Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to Peoples Road early this evening to investigate a possible explosive device in the area.
The 1000 block of Peoples Road was closed for a short time in order to facilitate the investigation.
The explosive disposal unit attended the scene and determined that there was no threat to the public, Lincoln Louttit, corporate communications with Sault Police, told SooToday.
The device in question is currently in police possession for examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
