Reports on social media have suggested a heavy police presence around 1:00 p.m. on Albion St.
Sault Ste. Marie Police Services have confirmed that they were there in regards to a "specific incident" and that there was no threat to public safety.
Lincoln Louttit with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services told SooToday, "that's all the information we'll be releasing at this time."
SooToday also received a news tip regarding an incident on Blucher St. around 3:00 p.m. Sault Police have confirmed that they were on Blucher St. today responding to a call. But, due to the nature of the call, they say they will not be releasing details and there is no concern for public safety.
