A 22-year-old is facing multiple charges after police allege he stole some high-priced items from a downtown business — then pawned one of them.

In the early morning of Feb. 4, a person was seen breaking into a business in the 300 block of Queen Street East.

Sault Police say “a high value of items” was stolen.

The next day, police say a person pawned one of the stolen items.

A suspect was arrested a short time later, around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 5.

Jessy Audet, 22, is charged with:

  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on April 8, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Audet is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
