Online posts lead to threats and libel charges for 27-year-old

Sault man has been accused of threatening violence and posting false information online

Posting false information online has led to charges for a 27-year-old Sault man, police say.

According to a press release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the accused posted false information online about a person known to him and threatened violence while speaking with someone on the phone on Feb. 22.

The accused was located on March 5 and arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon Crack faces charges of defamatory libel, uttering threats and two counts of breach of probation.

He was held for bail court.
