Northland Road bust leads to numerous drug, weapons charges

Officers seized approximately $25,280 in drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and MDMA

Sault Ste. Marie Police report that they've charged three people in connection to a trafficking investigation.

Officers executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at a residence on Northland Road where the three were found and arrested. 

During a later search of the area, officers located what they believe to be controlled substances, including:

  • 15.9 grams of methamphetamine
  • 6.4 grams of MDMA
  • 43.9 grams of fentanyl
  • 2.2 grams of cocaine
  • 2.4 grams of heroin
  • brass knuckles
  • a .22 calibre rifle
  • $15,070 in Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs found is $25,280.

As a result, Ashley Gionette, 28; Jennifer Lipinski, 41; and Curtis Smith, 32, were arrested and charged with: 

  • Five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Careless storage of a prohibited weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

Ms. Gionette and Ms. Lipinski each face an additional charged of breach of probation.

All three were held for bail court.
