A 35-year-old is facing multiple robbery with a weapon charges after separate incidents on Sunday evening.

Police say that around 8 p.m. a person attended a business in the 500 block of Queen Street East. While there, they had a knife pulled on them by a person who demanded money.

The victim gave the accused the money and the accused then fled the area.

While police were en route to the original scene, the accused allegedly went to another business (in the 600 block of Queen Street East) and threatened staff with a knife and demanded alcohol.

The accused was not given any alcohol and left the scene before police got there.

At around 9:20 p.m., officers, with the help of police service dog Hektor, found the accused behind a building in the 100 block of East Street.

Thomas Marttinen has been charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon and two counts of breach of a release order.
