Mounties help Sault police make arrest in counterfeit money case

The 27-year-old has been charged in at least four incidents taking place in July of this year

On Aug. 19, 2019 officers with the Investigation Services Unit, in cooperation with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, arrested 27-year-old Dylan Marshall of Great Northern Road for uttering counterfeit money. 

It’s alleged on four occasions the accused attended businesses, in various locations in the city, and used a counterfeit Canadian $50 bill to make a purchase. Three of the incidents took place on July 21, 2019 and another on July 22, 2019. 

Four counterfeit Canadian $50 bills were seized and sent to the RCMP for analysis. 

The accused was located on Aug. 19, 2019 and taken into custody. He is charged with four counts of uttering counterfeit money and three counts of breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.
