Four Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance:

1) A 27 year-old male was arrested on the 26th of October at 4:35 pm at the city police station and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief and five counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s residence on the night of the 24th of October while she was asleep. The accused got into a verbal argument with her 15 year-old son who demanded him to leave, punched him in the face and pushed a lit cigarette into his face, burning him. When some friends that were over visiting attempted to intervene, he punched one male victim several times in the face and pushed another female victim to the ground. Non-life threatening injuries were reported to all the victims. The accused smashed some furniture in the residence and fled before police arrival. He turned himself in at the station two days later. At the time of the offence the accused was on conditions to be of good behaviour and not to attend at his ex-girlfriend’s residence or to molest, harass, annoy or communicate with her.

2) A 17 year-old youth was arrested on the 25th of October at 2:12 am on Cathcart Street and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of resist peace officer, one count of assault peace officer and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 25th of October around 2:10 am city police were called to a possible domestic disturbance on Cathcart Street. When officers arrived, they found a female being treated by ambulance attendants and two males that were intoxicated and causing a disturbance. When police attempted to arrest the accused, he resisted by pulling his arms away and pulled at the officer’s jacket. One of the officers fell to the ground and received minor injuries during the altercation. When the accused was searched, he was found in possession of four grams of cannabis marihuana.

3) A 26 year-old male was arrested on the 26th of October at 9:23 pm at his residence and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 26th of October around 6 pm the accused assaulted his common law spouse at their residence by pushing her, choking her and slapping her in the face. Officers investigating the domestic learned that in mid September the accused assaulted the same victim at their residence by punching her in the face and head several times and broker her cell phone when she attempted to call police.

4) A 31 year-old male was arrested on the 25th of October at 4 am at his residence and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that on the 26th of October around 3:54 am the accused assaulted his common law spouse by pulling her down a set of cement stairs by her hair. When the victim attempted to get up the accused then pushed her down the stairs. Officers investigating the incident learned that she was also assaulted by the accused approximately a month ago when he pushed her through a glass window of the door at their residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries during the domestic assaults.
