Three Persons Charged with Mischief Just before 2 am on October 22nd, City Police attended in the parking lot in the 500 block of Trunk Road in regards to 3 persons hanging around a car parked in the lot.
Three Persons Charged with Mischief

Just before 2 am on October 22nd, City Police attended in the parking lot in the 500 block of Trunk Road in regards to 3 persons hanging around a car parked in the lot. It is alleged that the threes persons smashed out the windows on the drivers side of the car. The persons fled the area and a description was provided of the suspects. Patrol officers, with the assistance of Tazer and his handler from the Canine Unit, located and arrested three persons:

1) 19-year old Shane Waboose of 203-135 Cambridge Place has been charged with one count of attempt theft under $5,000, one count of mischief under $5,000, possession of housebreaking tools and one count of breach of probation.

2) 25-year old Allen Waboose of 166 Southmarket Street has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of attempt theft under $5,000.

3) 24-year old Alfred Peters of 166 Southmarket Street has also been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of attempt theft under $5,000.
All three males will appear in bail court this morning.


Male Charged with Assault

A 38-year old male will appear in bail court after being arrested on October 23rd around 7 pm. It is alleged that on that date the accused assaulted his common law girlfriend by grabbing her by her hair during an argument. It is further alleged that the accused told the victim if she told anyone that he would kill her. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.


Assault Causing Bodily Harm

57-year old Terrance Smith of 108-731 Pine Street was arrested on the 23rd of October and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on October 19th the accused attended the residence of a male known to the accused. It is alleged that the accused assaulted the victim by pushing him to the ground twice. This resulted in the victim receiving medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries to the victims left arm. The accused will appear in court on November 28th.

Impaired Driving Charges Laid

25-year old Seth Mason of 146 Kerr Drive will appear in court on November 28th after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. It is alleged that on October 22nd just after 2 am the accused was driving a car westbound on Queen Street West when his vehicle left the roadway and struck 3 trees and a light standard on the north side of Queen Street West just west of Gore Street. The vehicle received extensive damage and Mr. Mason was not hurt in the incident. The accused has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on November 28th.


City Police were busy with break and enter reports over the weekend:

1) Thieves attempted to break into a home in the 100 block of Smale Avenue on the 21st of October during the daytime hours. A door was damaged and house number signs were taken, but entry was not gained into the residence.

2) A home in the 300 block of Albert Street East was entered on the 22nd around 3 am. One of the persons in the residence woke up and saw 2 males walk out of the residence with a case of beer and an X-box.

3) On the 22nd of October around 2 am a male suspect entered a residence in the 100 block of Birch Street. The suspect entered an outer porch area and when they attempted to enter into the main residence the homeowner told them to leave and they did. Nothing was taken in this break and enter.

4) A garage at the rear of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 549 Cathcart Street had it hasp and lock damaged. It is unknown if anything was taken. It was reported on October 22nd.

5) Sometime between October 11th and 19th thieves broke into a vacant home in the 800 block of Wellington Street East and stole some hand tools and power tools. It was reported on the 23rd.

6) Last evening just after 8 am City Police attended at Bay View School at 185 Pittsburgh Street for a break and enter to the schools. Entry was gained and thieves made off with candy and markers that had been inside a desk in the office area.

7) A home in the 600 block of Albert Street West was entered yesterday between 2 pm and 10 pm. Thieves made off with a TV, CD’s and Nintendo games.
