Arrest: A 16 year old female was arrested on outstanding warrants for breach of probation and failing to attend court. She was given a new court date of Oct 30 th .

Arrest:

A 16 year old female was arrested on outstanding warrants for breach of probation and failing to attend court.  She was given a new court date of Oct 30th.

Impaired Driving:

53 year old Toni-Lee Dini-Beharriell of 475 John Street was arrested and charged with impaired driving and consume over the legal limit.  Police received a call from a security officer who was following a vehicle being driven by the accused.  Police attended and observed the vehicle to be travelling at a low rate of speed and swerving dramatically.  Upon speaking with the driver officers formed the opinion that her ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.  Breath tests were conducted and the accused was found to have more than the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.  She will be appearing in court on November 5th.

Property Crimes:

  • A Mongoose Amp Element racing bike was stolen from a residence on Pittsburg Ave.
  • A residence in the 300 Block of Old Goulais Bay Road was broken into.  Jewelry and prescription medications were reported stolen.
  • 3 chainsaws were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of North Street.
  • A business in the 200 block of Northern Avenue was broken into.  An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
  • A business was reported broken into in the 600 block of Second Line West.  Investigation is ongoing and it is not yet known if anything was stolen.
  • A business in the 600 Block of Wellington Street West was reported broken into.  Investigation is ongoing.   It does not appear that anything was stolen.

Laptop Recovered:

Based on tips from the public stemming from a news release with a picture of a distinct ball cap, police were able to recover the laptop computer stolen from a youth in Lennox Park.  The investigation is continuing.  No charges have been laid to this point.  The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank all those who called in with information.
