Drug Search Warrant Arrests: On the 6th of November at 3:47 pm members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Street Team and Patrol Services, executed a search warrant at room 234 of the Days Inn, located at 320 Bay St.
Drug Search Warrant Arrests:

On the 6th of November at 3:47 pm members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Street Team and Patrol Services, executed a search warrant at room 234 of the Days Inn, located at 320 Bay St. The room was rented and occupied by 24 year-old Christopher Duclos. Also found in the room was 19 year-old Kristy Ann Barsanti of 53 Robin Street. A search of the room revealed them to be in possession of 233.4g of cocaine, a digital (operational) scale, 3.9 grams of hashish, 1.6 grams of marihuana and a knife that opens with centrifugal force. As a result, Duclos and Barsanti were each charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $23,450. Duclos will appear in bail court this morning and Barsanti will appear in court on the 7th of December.

Threat Related Arrest:

19 year-old Jeffrey Davies of 37 Raymond Street was arrested on the 7th of November at 4:07 am and charged with three counts of threatening death. Two of the threat charges are in relation to the patrol officers that arrested the accused. It is alleged that the accused made death threats towards both officers that arrested him. The third charge is in relation to the complainant. On the 7th of November at 3:43 am City Police were called to a disturbance on Atwater Street. When police arrived they learned that the accused had been at a loud party at a residence on Atwater and that he had allegedly made threats towards persons in the area that had requested the noise be turned down. The accused is to attend court on the 7th of December.

Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:

1) 30 year-old Lisa Mortari of #303-136 Bay Street in Hamilton Ontario was arrested on several outstanding warrants on the 6th of November at 12:55 pm at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre. She has been charged with five counts of failing to attend court and one count of breach of a release documents. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) 33 year-old Dale Marinich of 222 Albert Street East was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the 6th of November at 12:02 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threatened death or bodily harm and three counts of obstruct justice in a judicial proceeding. He is to appear in bail court this morning

Second Male Arrested for Bear Spray Assault:

21 year-old Nicholas Binda of #3-269 Goulais Avenue was arrested on the 9th of November at 3:30 am after turning himself in at the city police station. He was charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public and one count of possession or deposit of an offensive volatile substance. Another male involved in this incident, 24 year-old Bradley Williamson of 57 Copernicus Drive was arrested on the 31st of October. It is alleged that on the 31st of October around 3 am the two accused persons attended at a gathering at a downtown residence and assaulted the male victim that was known to them. It is alleged that Williamson punched the victim and Binda sprayed the victim in the face with bear spray. The victim had to attend at the hospital for treatment if non-life threatening injures. Willimason was charged with one count of assault and is to appear in court on the 7th of December and Binda is to appear in court on the 14th of December.

Domestic Related Arrest:

A 26 year-old male was arrested on the 7th of November at 4:33 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 7th of November at approximately 3 pm the accused attended at his girlfriend’s residence, got into a verbal argument with her and assaulted her. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving Arrests:

1) 39 year-old Brian Halonen of 238 Beverley Street was arrested on the 8th of November at 10:35 pm on Albert Street West and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 8th of November at approximately 10:30 pm city police received a call regarding an impaired driver in the area of Carmen’s Way near Albert Street. The accused was observed operating a Dodge Dakota Pickup all over the road and striking a utility pole. Officers located the vehicle with the accused still inside in a parking lot of a local bar and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. The truck had minor damage to it and the air bag had gone off. The accused is to appear in court on the 14th of December.

2) 50 year-old Massimo Campioni of 25 Third Line East was arrested on the 8th of November at 3:22 pm on Second Line East and charged with one count of consume over the legal; limit. It is alleged that on the 8th of November at 2:58 pm city police stopped a dump truck on Second Line East for an insecure load. When officers spoke with the driver they found him to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was given a roadside screening breathalyzer test and registered a fail. He is to appear in court on the 14th of December.

Weekend Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Reports:


• A residence in the3 400 block of North Street was entered on the sometime on the 6th of November. A television and some guns were reported stolen.
• A residence on Elmwood Avenue was entered in the morning hours on the 8th of November. A television and cash was reported stolen.
• A residence on Lethbridge Street was entered sometime overnight on the 7th of November. Two wallets that contained some cash were reported stolen.

Theft Reports:

• Vehicles were entered on Albert Street East, Foster Drive, Great Northern Road and Peoples Road. Wallets, cash papers and an iPod were some of the items reported stolen.
• Bikes were reported stolen from White Oak Drive and Cambridge Place.
• A licence plate was stolen from a vehicle on Third Line East.

Mischief Reports:

• Seven vehicles were damaged in the areas of Cooper Street, Metzger Street, Brown Street and Parliament Street. Some of the damage reported were a broken mirror, a broken window, slashed tires and one was spray painted.
• A bus shelter window on Second Line West at Goulais Avenue was smashed.
