People to Appear in Bail Court Today

1) A 36-year old male was arrested and charged on the 26th of November with one count of assault and one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that in May of this year the accused assaulted his common law wife by striking her in the head. It is further alleged that the accused called the victim repeatedly and also threatened to harm her family members.

2) A 22-year old male was arrested on the 26th of November and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on that date the accused assaulted his common law wife by striking her in the head.

3) 41-year old Earl Maahs of no fixed address was arrested on the 27th of November just before 2 am and charged with one count of theft, one count of assault police and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that just before 2 am on the 27th of November the accused attended at the Mac’s Mart on Gore Street and ate food items but did not pay for them. Police were called and the accused was arrested. Once at the police station it is alleged that the accused began to fight with officers. At the time of the offences the accused was on probation.

4) 34-year old Craig Witty of 3-278 Sixth Avenue as arrested and charged on the 24th of November with one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of breach of a release order and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 23rd of November the accused spray painted a vehicle parked in a driveway on Sixth Avenue. At the time of the offence the accused was on a release order not to molest, harass or annoy the owner of the vehicle as well as being on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be good.

Three persons were arrested on the 25th of November for drinking and driving related offences:

1) 32-year old Shauna Boyer of 85 McCrea Street was charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was traveling at a high rate of speed on Bay Street and allegedly failed to stop for a red light on Queen Street East.

2) 48-year old Alan Lajoie of 8382 Highway 17 East, Bruce Mines was charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. Officers attended in the area of the marina on Pine Street after receiving calls of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the accused who was in the area and he was subsequently arrested.

3) Just before 10 pm officers attended at Black Road and Trunk Road for a single motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that the accused was traveling on merging lane from Black Road to Trunk Road, struck a light standard and fled the scene on foot. The accused was located a short distance away. 38-year old Michael Jones of 1515 Old Garden River Road was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of fail to remain at an accident and one count of fail to provide a breath sample.
All three accused will appear in court on January 8th.

Youth Arrested Being Caught Breaking into a Car

City Police arrested a 15-year old youth on the 26th of November just after 5:30 am and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of housebreaking tools and one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that officers observed the accused exiting a parked vehicle on Pentagon Boulevard and that the accused fled from the vehicle with a camera case in his hands. The accused was arrested and the camera was recovered. The accused will appear in court on January 2nd.

Youth Charged with Sexual Assault

A 14-year old youth was arrested on the 24thof November and charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that earlier this month the accused touched a female youth in a sexual manner. The accused and victim are known to each other. The youth will appear in court on January 9th.

A number of break and enters were reported over the weekend:

1) On the 24th of November a homeowner on Sixth Avenue reported that between the 21st of November at 8 pm and 5:30 pm on the 22nd of November their home had been broken into and jewellery was taken.

2) Between 11:30 am and 2:45 pm on the 24th of November a cottage on Hill Road in Prince Township was entered. Items taken include a chainsaw, a camera, a camcorder, a laptop and a case of beer.

3) On the 24th of November between 4 pm and 9 pm thieves entered a home on Crawford Street and stole a VCR and a DVD as well as movies.

4) Sometime between 6 pm on the 24th of November and 1:55 am on the 25th of November thieves attempted to break into the Medicine Shoppe on Great Northern Road.

5) On the 25th of November just after 3 am thieves broke into Dawson and Keenan Insurance on Brock Street and stole an Acer monitor and tower.

6) On the 25th of November just after 5 am Liquidation World on Trunk Road was broken into. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.

7) On the 25th of November a homeowner on Korah Road reported that their residence had been entered sometime between 12:30 pm and 5 pm. Items taken include a quantity of loose change and approximately 50 Playstation 2 games.

8) The Denture Clinic on East Street was broken into around 1 am on the 26th of November, but nothing appears to have been taken.

9) On the 26th of November just after 3 am Joe Sports and Surplus on Queen Street East was entered but nothing appears to have been taken.

10) Sometime between 9 pm on the 25th and 7 am on the 26th of November thieves broke into a residence on Lennox Avenue and an undisclosed amount of old style Canadian money and some food was taken.

11) Propane Depot on Great Northern Road was broken into between 11:45 pm on the 25th of November and 12:30 am on the 26th of November. A small amount of coins were taken.

12) On the 26th of November Marlin Travel on Queen Street East reported a break and enter. If is unknown if anything was taken at this time.

13) On the 26th of November Readers Choice on Queen Street East reported a break and enter. If is unknown if anything was taken at this time.

14) On the 26th of November Continental Hair on Queen Street East reported a break and enter. If is unknown if anything was taken at this time.

15) Sometime between 5:30 am on the 25th of November and 4 pm on the 26th of November thieves broke into Dawson and Keenan Insurance on Brock Street and stole another computer tower.

16) A home on Maple Street was entered between 7 pm and 10:30 pm on the 25th of November. Items taken include jewellery, a quantity of toonies, and two season tickets for the Greyhound games.

17) A home on Spadina Avenue was entered and a safe was taken. The safe and some contents were located in the creek in the Wallace Terrace area.

18) A home in the 100 block of Second Line West was broken into but it is unknown at this time if anything was taken or when the break and enter occurred.

19) A home on Birchwood Street was entered sometime between 4 pm and 7:30 pm on the 26th of November. Items taken include jewellery and two computer towers.
