FIGHT LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGES Yesterday at approximately 2:30 a.m., City Police received a call about a fight on Peoples Road. Upon arrival, police observed the victim had several injuries consisting of a black eye, bloody nose and lip.
FIGHT LEADS TO ASSAULT CHARGES
Yesterday at approximately 2:30 a.m., City Police received a call about a fight on Peoples Road. Upon arrival, police observed the victim had several injuries consisting of a black eye, bloody nose and lip.

The suspects fled the area and after police received a description of the culprits and their vehicle, they were stopped a short distance from the area.

Shane Young age 24 of Hwy. 556 Searchmont and Loren Beaird age 21 of 765 Cooper Street have been arrested and charged with assault and both have a court date of 5 Jan.2004. It is not known at this time if these two males knew the victim.


CHARGED WITH THEFT
On Saturday at 2:45p.m., Mark Reed age 35 of 14 Edison and Sherri McBride age 29 of 123 Willoughby were at Wal-Mart, 446 Great Northern Road, where they selected several piece of merchandise and then allegedly concealed the items and proceeded out of the store, making no effort to pay.

As a result they were arrested and charged with theft under $5000.00 and will appear in court the 5th of Jan. 2004.


SHOPLIFTING AT ZELLERS
On the 22nd Nov. 2003 Sally Cooper age 41 of 321 Goulais Avenue was in Zellers, Station Mall, where she selected several clothing items and was observed hiding them in her bag and brought them to customer service where she allegedly exchanged them for a gift card.

At the time of the offence she was on a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be good as a result of previous thefts. She was arrested and charged with breach of probation and fraud and will attend court the 29th of Dec. 2003.


TWO YOUNG OFFENDERS ATTACK SECURITY GUARD
On the 21st of November, two young persons were at the Station Mall in an intoxicated state causing a disturbance.

Upon being approached by Mall Security, one of the accused assaulted security by throwing a garbage can at him three times. The young person was then arrested by security at which time a fight ensued and the young person was pinned to the ground.

The second young person was yelling and swearing and while the security guard had the first accused pinned, the second young person struck the guard in the head. The second accused also breached a probation order of keep the peace and be good by yelling and swearing and being drunk.

The first accused has been arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, resist arrest, cause a disturbance by being drunk, and being intoxicated in a public place and will appear in bail court the 24th Nov. 2003.

The second accused has been arrested and charged with assault, cause a disturbance by being drunk, intoxicated in a public place and breach of probation and will appear in youth court the 30th Dec. 2003.


BREAK & ENTER
On Saturday at approximately 2:25 a.m., City Police responded to a break and enter to the Beaver Gas Station at 266 Korah Road.

An independent witness observed three youths smashing the window and entering the building. The three youths fled the area prior to Police arrival but were tracked by K9 Unit “Eagle” to a home in the west end of the city and subsequently arrested and charged with the break and enter and will attend bail court the 24Th of Nov. 2003.

An undisclosed amount of cigarettes and magazines were stolen.
