Possession Of A Controlled Substance

20-year-old Cody Charles Patrick Lebrun of 184 Sutton Place was arrested on the 19th of November 2011 at 11:07 p.m. on Second Line East following a traffic stop. It is alleged that the accused was observed speeding eastbound on Second Line East until his vehicle was stopped by officers in front of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service (580 Second Line East). Officers noted evidence of Cannabis in the vehicle and subsequently conducted a search of Mr. Lebrun. Two grams of cocaine was located on his person. He was charged with “possession of a controlled substance” and released with a count date of the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

Shoplifters

45-year-old Thomas Babic of 12 Putney Road was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at 12:20 p.m. at his residence in relation to a theft. It is alleged that on the 16th of November 2011 the accused was at Soo Mill (539 Great Northern Road) and took a shop vacuum , shop vacuum bags, a faucet set and a tool bag (total value $417.83) and left the store without paying for the merchandise. He has been charged with “theft under five thousand dollars” and is compelled to attend court on the19th of December at 9:00 a.m.

36-year-old Tracey Lynne Ross of 154 Albert Street East was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at 11:32 p.m. at the Station Mall (293 Bay Street) in relation to a theft. It is alleged that while in the I.D.A. store in the Station Mall the accused opened a package of Tylenol Cold & Sinus (value 18.97) and concealed the medication in her jacket pocket. She was arrested by store employees before she could leave the store. Police were subsequently contacted. The accused was charged with “theft under five thousand dollars” and given a court date of the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

55-year-old Paul Daniel Stevens of 57 Gran Street was arrested on the 19th of November 2011 at 04:10 a.m. at the Metro grocery store (150 Churchill Blvd.) regarding a theft. It is alleged that the accused concealed several packages of chocolate bars inside his coat and attempted to leave the store without paying for the candy. He was arrested by store employees and then turned over to police. He has been charge with “theft under five thousand dollars” and must attend court on the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

Outstanding Warrant

39-year-old Kresta Lynne Ouellette of 339 Korah Road was arrested on the 19th of November 2011 at Canada Customs Bridge Plaza (125 Huron Street) for an outstanding warrant. The accused was wanted for allegedly failing to attend court. She was released with another court date of the 19th of December 2011.

Impaired Driver

49-year-old Randall Albert Smith of 142 Albert Street East was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at 11:24 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East in relation to impaired driving. It is alleged that the accused was observed by police stopped at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Pine Street at a green light. Further investigation revealed the accused to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused failed a roadside screening device and was subsequently arrested and charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle”. He is compelled to attend court on the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

6 For Bail Court

A 29-year-old male was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at noon hour in relation to an outstanding warrant in relation to a domestic incident. The warrant was for an alleged threat and breach of probation involving his former girlfriend.

A 23-year-old female was arrested on the 20th of November 2011 at 5:35 a.m.in the downtown area of the city in relation to a domestic incident involving her common law-boyfriend. It is alleged that the accused hit the victim with a rolling pin and stabbed him in the back with a knife. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. She has been charged with two counts of “assault with a weapon”.

A 34-year-old female was arrested on the 20th of November 2011 at 5:45 a.m. in the central area of the city in relation to a domestic incident involving her ex-husband. It is alleged that the accused had breached two conditions of her recognizance of bail by failing to abstain communication with her ex-husband and failing to notify police of a change to her address. The recognizance had stemmed from a previous domestic incident. She has been charged with “breach of recognizance x 2”.

A 23-year-old male was arrested on the 20th of November 2011 at 12:48 p.m. in the central area of the city in connection to a domestic incident involving his girlfriend. It is alleged that the accused damaged a door in the victim’s residence and pushed her. He was charged with “mischief’ and “assault”.

A 22-year-old male was arrested on the18th of November 2011 at 7:15 p.m. in the west end of the city in relation to an incident involving his mother. It is alleged that the accused was involved in a verbal argument with his mother and jumped on the hood of her car when she attempted to leave the residence. Police were called to the residence and the accused resisted officers when placed under arrest. The accused has been charged with “mischief” and “resist arrest”.

19-year-old Cody Joseph Quesnel of no fixed address was arrested on the 20th of November 2011 at 11:15 p.m. at an address on Selby Road in connection to an incident that had occurred on the 14th of November 2011. It is alleged that on that day the accused was at a residence on Huron Street where he assaulted two males and one female that were known to him. The accused assaulted a 19-year-old male by kicking and punching him in the head as well as striking him on the leg with a chair. The accused then assaulted a 20-year-old male by punching and kicking him as well and stabbed him in the leg with a knife. The female was “head butted” in the face and pushed. The two males were taken to the hospital and treated for what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. The 19-year-old male suffered facial injuries and had a possible concussion at the time. The accused has been charged with “assault”, “assault with a weapon” assault causing bodily harm” and “breach of probation”. At the time of arrest the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to incidents involving his pet dog. It is alleged that the accused regularly hit his five to six month old pit bull mix. It is also alleged that he kicked the dog down a flight of stairs and scalded it in a shower. This warrant was executed and he was additionally charged with injuring an animal. The animal was removed from his custody several months ago by the Humane Society.

Taxi Fraud

40-year-old Bobbi-Jo Russell of 196 Turner Avenue was visited by police at her residence on the 19th of November 2011 at 10:30 p.m. after she had hired a cab a half an hour earlier and failed to pay for the fare. She ran from the cab to her residence where she was charged for “obtaining transportation by fraud” and given a court date of the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.
