Theft On November 19, 2012 at 7:30 am Police Officers were called to a business in the 900 block of Great Northern Rd. Officers learned that sometime overnight thieves entered a locked trailer and removed a quantity potato chips.

On November 19, 2012 at 7:30 am Police Officers were called to a business in the 900 block of Great Northern Rd. Officers learned that sometime overnight thieves entered a locked trailer and removed a quantity potato chips.

Theft from vehicle

In a second incident involving a theft from a vehicle, a car was entered on Broadview Ave. sometime over the weekend and ownership papers were taken from it.

Shoplifting Arrest

On November 16th officers with the Patrol Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 46 year old Dwayne Guy of 380 Elizabeth St. unit 2 and charged him with one count of theft under $5000.00.  It is alleged that the accused went to RJ’s market and selected just over $120.00 worth of meat and other grocery items from the shelf, concealed them in his coat and then left the store without paying for them.  Mr. Guy will appear in court on December 19th.

Break and enter

A break and enter was reported in the Marshall Drive area of the city overnight. The homeowner chased  a male out of the garage area of the residence, but not before the thief made off with a purse containing personal papers and a cell phone.

Breaching the peace

25 year old Mark Charlette was picked up by City Police overnight for breaching the peace. It is alleged that Charlette returned home in an intoxicated condition and was asked by the co-habitor of the residence to spend the night somewhere else. He was unable to accommodate this request and as a result was brought into the Police Station for the remainder of the night.

Impaired:

[Charge withdrawn] was arrested overnight for impaired driving and consuming alcohol over the legal limit. Officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Second Line East and as a result a vehicle stop was initiated which resulted in [charge withdrawn] being charged. She is to appear in Provincial court on December 17th.
