Domestic Related Arrest
A 29 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 12th of November at 9:40 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief, and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 12th of November the accused got into a verbal argument with his common law spouse, assaulted and threatened her and damaged some items in the home. The victim received non-life threatening injuries during the incident.

Five Impaired Driving Arrests
Fifty-four-year-old William Wanamaker of 199 Carufel Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 11:37 pm on Wellington Street West at Carmen’s Way and charged with one count of consuming over the legal limit and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that the accused was stopped by the RIDE program around 11:37 p.m. on Carmen's Way and at the time officers believed him to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused registered a fail on the roadside screening device and when being arrested, the accused was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine. He is to appear in court on the 20th of December.

Fifty-eight year-old Linda Caputo of 531 River Road Apartment #11 was arrested at Canada Customs on Huron Street on the 12th of November at 8:30 pm and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was operating a Mazda vehicle at Canada Customs on Huron Street and when she was stopped and checked by Custom’s officers she was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was notified and the accused registered a fail on the roadside screening device. She was subsequently arrested and is to appear in court on the 20th of December.

29 year-old Matthew Dewar of 158 Stanley Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 1:54 am on East Street and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 13th of November at approximately 1:48 am the accused attempted to evade the RIDE program that was set up on Wellington Street East and when officers pulled the accused vehicle over on East Street he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused registered a fail on the roadside screening device. He is to appear in court on the 20th of December.

31 year-old Mara Mesaros of 242 Birch Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 1:54 am on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 13th of November at 1:54 am the accused was stopped on Wellington Street East by RIDE Program officers and at the time she was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused registered a fail on the roadside screening device and was subsequently arrested. She is to appear in court on the 20th of December.

32 year-old Laurie Ann McWatch of 10 Grace Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 14th of November at 2:45 am on Grace Street and charged with one count of refuse to provide breath sample and one count f breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 14th of November at approximately 2:27 am the accused was operating a Ford Pickup eastbound on Albert Street and when approaching the intersection of Gore Street she did not stop for the red light and almost struck a police cruiser that was travelling northbound on Gore Street. The accused was stopped on Grace Street and at the time she was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused refused to provide a breath sample upon demand by officers and was also found to be on an undertaking with conditions that she not consume any alcohol. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of December.

Disqualified Driving Arrest
39 year-old Michael Begin, of 802 Bonney Street, was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 11:05 pm on Wellington Street West and charged with one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified from driving by court order. It is alleged that on the 13th of November at 11:05 pm the accused was operating a Chrysler mini-van on Wellington Street West and when he was stopped and checked by officers, they discovered that he was a disqualified driver. He is to paper in court on the 13th of December.

Four Shoplifting Arrests
19 year-old Rachel Crigger of #3B-233 Lake Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 12th of November at 4:10 pm at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property. It is alleged that on the 12th of November she attended at the store and stole a gold ring. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of December.

20 year-old Renee Hachey of 340 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 12th of November at Food Basics on Pine Street and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 12th of November she attended at the store and stole several items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 13th of December.

19 year-old Andrew McArthy of 142 Alexander Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 1:33 pm at Sears on Bay Street and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 13th of November the accused stole some men’s clothing from the store. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to attend in court on the 13th of December.

27 year-old Valerie Agawa of 192 Frontenac Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service on the 13th of November at 1:25 pm Joe’s No Frills on Korah Road and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at the store and stole some items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 13th of December.

Break and Enter Reports
• An apartment on Edinburgh Street was entered sometime in the past week. Nothing was taken and minor damage was reported.
• A garage and shed in the 600 block of Shafer Avenue were broken into sometime between the 10th and 12th of November. Numerous tools, fishing equipment and an air compressor were taken.

Vehicle Vandalism
• A vehicle window was smashed in the 700 block of Queen Street East.
• Tires were deflated on a vehicle in the 300 block of Lake Street.
• A vehicle in the 200 block of Bay Street was vandalized.
• A vehicle on Montgomery Avenue was spray painted and scratched.
• A vehicle in the 600 block of Queen Street East was keyed and kicked.
• A vehicle in the 300 block of Cathcart was damaged and tires were flattened.
• A vehicle on Gladstone Avenue had tires slashed and a rear window smashed.
