Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old John Willard of #4-8424 Little River Road, Windsor Ontario, on the 11th of November at 10:05 pm on Portage Lane and charged him with four counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 11th of November just before 10 pm officers received a call regarding a male going through vehicles in the area of Queen Street West and West Street.

Officers located the male a short time later on Portage Lane and at the time he was found to be in an intoxicated state. A check of the accused revealed that he was on four probation orders with conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol and he was also on a curfew to be in his residence from 10 pm to 6 am. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Youth Arrested for Theft and Threaten Death

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth on the 11th of November at 12:44 pm on St. Mary’s River Drive and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 11th of November at approximately 12:24 pm the accused attended at Sears in the Station Mall and stole some cologne and left the store. When a security officer attempted to arrest the accused, the youth began to yell and threatened to stab the officer. The youth fled and was quickly located and arrested by police on St Mary’s River Drive. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Five Domestic Related Arrests

1) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36 year-old female on the 13th of November at 1:04 pm at the police station and charged her with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 12th of November at approximately 1:45 am the accused assaulted her ex-common-law boyfriend while at a local bar.

2) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22 year-old male on the 13th of November at 8:50 am at his residence and charged him with one count of mischief, one count of assault, one count of breach of probation, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 12th of November the accused attended at his ex-common law girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her, stole some of her medication and threatened to harm her.

It is further alleged the was wanted on an outstanding warrant for another domestic related incident that took place on the 9th of October when he kicked in the door of his ex-girlfriend’s residence and caused damage to some of her furniture. At the time he was on probation with conditions that he keep the peace and be good.

3) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32 year-old male on the 10th of November at 11:07 am on Pilgrim Street on an outstanding warrant and charged him with two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 7th of November at approximately 1:58 am the accused was observed by police in the downtown area in the company of a female that he was on conditions that he not communicate or associate with due to past domestic related charges. Further, officers discovered that he failed to notify police of his change of address.

4) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 26 year-old male on the 10th of November at 9:26 pm on Landslide Road and charged him with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged on the 10th of November at approximately 9:13 pm officers stopped and checked a vehicle on Landslide Road and at the time found the accused in the company of a female that he was on probation conditions on not to communicate with due to previous domestic related charges.

5) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32 year-old male on the 11th of November at 9:25 pm and charged him with one count of breach of probation. It is alleged on the 11th of November at approximately 9:25 pm officers stopped and checked vehicle on Albert Street East and at the time they found the accused was in the company of a female that he was on probation conditions on not to communicate with due to previous domestic related charges.

Male Arrested for Drug Possession

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service High School Liaison Unit arrested 18 year-old Justin Thibeault of 10 Wright Street on the 10th of November at 2:40 pm at a local high school and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug.

It is alleged that on the 10th of November at approximately 2:40 pm the accused was found to be in possession of 9.2 grams of marijuana and a digital scale while at a local high school. The accused was a student at the school at the time. He is to appear in court on the 12th of December.

Female Arrested for Shoplifting

On the 10th of November officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Tracey Daigle of #4-262 Wellington Street West at Zellers at the Station Mall and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 10th of November at approximately 12:00 pm the accused attended at the store and stole some clothing. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of December.

RIDE Program Results in Arrest of Male Driver

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted a RIDE Program on the 13th of November. Officers checked 196 vehicles during the program. Two roadside tests were administered, one 3-day suspension and three other provincial offence notices were issued. During the Program, while on Second Line West, one of the drivers was found under the influence of alcohol and allegedly failed to provide a breath sample.

As a result, the driver, 38 year old Donald McKay of #2-68 Corey Avenue was charged with one count of fail to provide breath sample and was also found to be a suspended driver and was charged with driving while under suspension. He is to appear in court on the 5th of December.

Break and Enter /Theft Reports

• A residence on Wellington Street West was entered on the 12th of November. Nothing was reported taken.

• A residence on Queen Street East was entered sometime Friday overnight. Nothing was reported taken.
• Locked boxes at a construction site on Texas Avenue were broken into over the past weekend and a number of tools and construction equipment were reported taken.

• A vehicle parked at a local downtown hotel was broken into on the 13th of November. A bag with medication was reported taken.

• A vehicle on Sunnyside Beach Road was broken into sometime overnight Friday – Some damage inside the car may indicate that the culprit/s were attempting to steal the vehicle.

• A purse was reported stolen at a local grocery store.

Mischief Reports

• On the 13th of November at approximately 2:06 am a male smashed a window of a bar on Queen Street East had. The male suspect was described as approximately 45-50 years, 5’6, with a goatee, long dirty blonde hair and he was wearing an army green winter coat.

• A large rock was thrown through a window of a residence on Boston Avenue on the 12th of November at approximately 12:50 pm.
