A 42 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charge with two counts of assault. It is alleged that the accused was at the residence of his girlfriend and that a dispute erupted and the male assaulted her by pulling her hair and punching her. The accused then assaulted the victim’s friend by dragging her on the floor by the hair and punching her in the head. This event is said to have occurred on the 22 March 2009 at approx. 11:21 pm.

Mischief

On the 20th of March 2009 police were dispatched to Rome’s at 44 Great Northern Road were they met with a employee. The employee stated that a person had witnessed someone pour a liquid over her parked car in the lot. A license plate number was recorded of the vehicle the suspect was operating. The suspect was located at his residence and he was charged with mischief. The accused had apparently asked the victim out sometime ago but the invitation was declined. The liquid poured over the car was apparently urine. 63 Year old George Onil Lebrasseur of 80 Elmwood Ave will appear in court on the 27th of April 2009 at 09:00 am.

Bail Court Today

1) A 21 year old male will appear in bail this morning facing numerous charges. It is alleged that on the 17 March 2009 the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and forced his way in and committed an assault on the victim by pushing her. The accused was on a release order at this time with numerous conditions such as non-communication with the victim and to stay away from the residence of the victim. Police were called but the accused had left prior to their arrival. On the 20 March 2009 at approx. 8:00 pm police were notified that the accused was again at the residence of the victim at which time he was taken into custody. He has been charged with break and enter, assault and 7 counts of breaching his release order.

2) 22 year old Ryan James Harris of 269 Goulais Ave. unit 8, will appear in bail court today charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that he broke into a home on Grand Blvd. and was scared off as the resident returned home. Patrol officers in the area apprehended the accused. Harris who was bound at the time of the offence by a release order to notify change of address, and not to be out of his residence unless in the company of his surety or for the purpose of employment.

3) A 17 year old male will appear in bail court today charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. It is alleged that the accused pushed the victim and brandished the knife in a thrusting manner towards the victim. No injuries were reported.

4) 40 year old Hales Russell of 21 Garden Ave. will appear in court on the 27 April 2009 facing a charge of threatening death. It is alleged that on the 20th of March 2009 the accused attended at a residence on Tancred St. and threatened to bash in the head of the victim.

5) 27 year old Shane Vernon Devoe of 248 Landslide Road will appear in court on the 27 April 2009 charged with driving while prohibited and obstructing a police officer. It is alleged that the accused was stopped for speeding on the 22 March 2009. The accused, who was prohibited from driving for an alcohol related offence identified himself as different person whom he is related to.

6) A 46 year old male will appear in bail court this morning charged with assault, mischief. It is alleged that on the 20th of March 2009 the accused attended at the residence of the victim (ex-girlfriend) where an argument escalated into the accused breaking a window and assaulting the victim by pushing her to the ground and then grabbing her by the throat and forcing her into the wall.

A large rock was thrown through the window of the Chief Shingwauk this weekend.

2 garbage cans and a recycling bin were set on fire in the 100 block of Ruth St. This was reported on Friday.
