Bail Court Today

1) A 43 year old male will appear in bail court today charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening death. It is alleged that on the 14 March 2009 he slapped and pushed his wife then threatened to kill her. Police were notified and he was taken into custody. No injuries were reported from the assault.

2) A 49 year old male will appear in court charged with assaulting his wife. It is alleged that the victim was struck in the face by her husband. He will appear in court on the 22 April 2009.

3) 21 year old Tyler Joseph Kennedy, of 222 Albert St. East will appear in court on the 20 April 2009. It is alleged that on the 11th March 2009 he made a threat on the life of a person known to him. On the 13th March 2009 he had contact with the police at which time he was arrested. He has been charged with threaten death and breach of probation.

4) On the 15 March 2009 at approx. 10:07 pm police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Brock and Albert St. The collision involved a 2005 red Ford Focus and a 2001 Honda CRV.
Minor injuries were reported to 2 of the 4 occupants of the Honda and they were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The lone occupant of the Ford was arrested for Impaired Operation and also Impaired Operation causing bodily harm. Both vehicles were severely damaged. Dennis Martin Swanson aged 43, of 1279 Wellington St. east will appear in court on the 20 April 2009

Property Crimes

Break and Enter

A break in was reported at Gigi’s restaurant located at 7 Great Northern Road. The incident is said to have occurred at approx. 2:18 am on the 14th March 2009. It is not known at this time if anything was taken.

An attempted break and enter to a garage in the 200 block of Glasgow Ave. was reported on the 15th March 2009.

Theft

A car was reported entered in the 100 block of Palace Drive on the 15th March 2009. The interior was ransacked and the culprit(s) made off with a quantity of loose change.

A purse was reported stolen on the 13 March 2009 from the Essar Centre during the Greyhound Game.

A wallet was reported taken from the Essar Centre on Sunday the 15 March 2009 from one of the dressing rooms.

With the recent warm weather and melting combined with puddles has made walking for pedestrians some what messy. Please slow down and be aware of people on the sidewalks and puddles in the curb lanes.
