Six persons to appear in Bail Court At approx 6:45 pm on Saturday March 13 City police arrested a 16-year–old male on an outstanding warrant and further charged him with two counts of breach of probation and one count of escape custody.

At approx 6:45 pm on Saturday March 13 City police arrested a 16-year–old male on an outstanding warrant and further charged him with two counts of breach of probation and one count of escape custody. It is alleged on Friday March 12 at approx.12:00 pm City police arrested the accused youth on a warrant. The accused was then transported to a detention centre where it is alleged he escaped from.

On Friday March 12 at approx 2:00 pm city police arrested a 40-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that during the month of February 2010, the accused assaulted his ex-common-law girlfriend by grabbing, pushing and spitting on her. The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

On Friday March 12, 2010 City police arrested an 18-year-old male and charged him with three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that between February 26, 2010 and March 11, 2010 the accused called, contacted and text messaged his ex-girlfriend in excess of 50 times. At the time of the incidents the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to not communicate with the victim.

On Saturday March 13, at approx. 1:10 am city police officers stopped and investigated a vehicle for a traffic offence. Further investigation resulted in an 18-year-old male being charged with one count of mischief, two counts of breach of probation and one count of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged that the accused, Brandon McDonald, age 18, of 22 Ashgrove Ave. was in possession of approx. 68 grams of marihuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. It was also alleged that the accused broke a window at a residence in the 300 block of Douglas Ave.

On Sunday March 14th at approx. 3:00 am city police arrested a 19-year-old male and charged him with two count of assault and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused, Jody Edwards, age 19 of 235 Fourth Line E. assaulted two males on Elizabeth St. by punching and kicking them. The victims suffered minor injuries.

At approx 5:00 am Monday March 15th Daniel Purvis, age 25, of no fixed abode, attended at the Sault Ste Marie Police Service station and turned himself in on a warrant for robbery. It is alleged that on the 10th of March 2010 the accused attended at the Market Mall Pharmacy, 275 Second Line W. and robbed the pharmacy of a quantity of Oxycotin. Mr. Purvis is charged with one count of robbery.

Female arrested for assault, mischief and threatening:

On Sunday March 14th at approx. 9:20 am city police arrested a 40-year-old female and charged her with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief and one count of threatening. It is alleged that the accused was involved in an argument with her common-law partner and during the altercation she assaulted him with a chair. She is further alleged to have threatened him and smashed his television. The accused will be appearing in court on April 21. The victim suffered minor injuries in this incident.

Break and Enter

The following locations were broken into:
The 100 block of 100 Indiana Dr. – unknown what was taken.
The 100 block of Greenfield Dr. – a television was stolen.
The 100 block of Gibbs St. – lawn furniture was stolen from a shed.
The 600 block of Fourth Line E. – 2 televisions were stolen.
The 300 block of Moody St. – Two youths were seen attempting to break into the garage.
The 100 block of Ruth St. – a shed was entered.

Mischief

Ten vehicles were damaged over the weekend in the following locations:
Creek Rd, the 100 block of Wellington St. E., Gore St., The John Rhodes Centre, the 100 block of Boehmer Blvd, the 600 block of Queen St.E., Willoughby St., the 400 block of Queen St. E., the 300 block of
Northern Ave.
Two apartments in the 100 block of Pine St. had windows broken.
The store sign at Never Ending Games, 648 Queen St. E. was reported broken.

Thefts

City Police investigated 12 reports of theft from vehicles over the weekend.
The locations include:
The 500 block of McNabb St, the 100 block of Glenholme Dr, the 100 block of Robin St – 2 occurrences,
The 100 block of Laronde Ave, the 100 block of Durban Rd, the 100 block of Woodward Ave,
The 100 block of Bishop’s Crt, the 100 block of Upton Rd, then 600 block of Wellington St. E.
The 7oo block of Trunk Rd and the 100 block of Spring St.
