Break And Enter The Sault Ste Marie Police Investigative Services is investigating a Break and Enter and Robbery that occurred on Sunday March 12th at approx. 5:30 AM. At that time four males broke into a residence in the 600 block of Shafer Ave.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Investigative Services is investigating a Break and Enter and Robbery that occurred on Sunday March 12th at approx. 5:30 AM. At that time four males broke into a residence in the 600 block of Shafer Ave. It is believed that the suspects were armed with knives and a handgun at the time of this incident. At the time of the entry there were four persons in the residence. Two adult males residents suffered non-life threatening injuries when they were slashed with the knives. The suspects then obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. The victims attended at the hospital and were treated and released.

Two Robberies Last Night

The first Robbery took place at Millie’s Mini Mart, at 245 Goulais Ave. last night at approx. 9:50 PM. In this occurrence two males entered the store and demanded money from the lone female clerk. Suspects obtained a small quantity of cash and cigarettes. The two suspects are described as: White males, approx. 5’ 8” tall. One suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt under a darker sweater. The second suspect had a darker hooded sweatshirt. Both suspects also had scarf like coverings over their faces. The suspects were last seen running west on Wallace Terr.

In the second Robbery two males were walking along Bay St., near Bruce St. at approx. 2:45 Am when a female approached them. The female asked the males for a cigarette. As the victims were talking to the female a car drove up and a male jumped out of the car. This male assaulted one of the men and stolen the victim’s money clip.

Both the suspect and female then got back into the car and drove off. The vehicle is described as a 1994-1996 Dodge Dynasty, silver in colour. Other persons were seen in the vehicle as it drove off. The victim in this incident did not require medical attention. Suspects are described as:

1. Male Caucasian, 6’2”, short brown hair, goatee, wearing a red polo shirt and jeans.
2.Female Caucasian, tall, med. build, brown hair.

Domestic Dispute

A 40-year-old male will be appearing in Bail Court today as a result of a domestic dispute. In the incident it is alleged that on Sat. March 11th at approx. 2:30 AM the accused assault his common-law spouse by punching her in the head. The victim suffered a red and bruised eye as a result of the assault. She did not require medical attention for her injuries. The accused is charged with one count of Assault and will be in bail court at 10:00 AM today.

Impaired Driver

At approx. 11:00 PM yesterday evening a male entering Canada from the US was arrested for Impaired Driving. It is alleged that 63-year-old David Keown, from 1504 West Fourth Ave, Sault Ste Marie Mich. was operating his vehicle while his ability to do so was Impaired by Alcohol. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday April 24th at 9:00 AM on a charge of Drive Over 80mgs.

11 Reports Of Mischeif

City Police are investigating 11 reports of mischief to vehicle over the weekend.
The incidents took place at:

1. The 500 block of Macdonald Ave.
2. The 200 block of Bay St.
3. On Foster Dr.
4. The 200 block of Trunk Rd.
5. The 300 block of Trunk Rd. (Two incidents).
6. The 100 block of Silver Birch
7. The 400 block of Borden Ave.
8. The 100 block of Chapple St.
9. The 100 block of Cambridge Pl.
10.The 600 block of Queen St.E.
