Male Charged with Breach of Probation A 48-year old male will appear in bail court his morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that the accused threatened his ex-girlfriend yesterday afternoon in the downtown area.

A 48-year old male will appear in bail court his morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that the accused threatened his ex-girlfriend yesterday afternoon in the downtown area. The accused was on release conditions as well as probation at the time of the offence. Some of the conditions included not to communicate with the victim and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused has been charged with one count of threatening, one count of breach of a release order and 3 counts of breach of probation.

Assault Charges Laid Against Male

A 41-year old male was arrested on Friday morning after City Police attended at a centrally located residence for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that the accused grabbed his estranged girlfriend by the arm and twisted it as well as shaking the victim. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries received during the incident. The accused has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Male Charged with 2 Counts of Breach of Probation

A 34-year old male was arrested early Sunday morning after City Police attended at a downtown residence for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that the 34-year old accused male attended at this ex-girlfriend’s address to pick up some belongings. When the victim opened the door the male allegedly assaulted the victim by grabbing her by the neck and pushing her down. The accused left the victim’s apartment, returned and damaged the apartment door. The male was on probation at the time with conditions to stay away from the victim, not to communicate with her and to keep the peace and be good. The male has been charged with one count of assault and 3 counts of breach of probation.

Male Charged with Assault with a Weapon

38-year old Paul Prior of no fixed address was arrested yesterday afternoon after he approached a female and her young granddaughter in the downtown area. It is alleged that the accused pulled a steak knife out of his jacket and directed it towards the victim and made a comment that caused the victim to be concerned for her safety. The victim fled the area with her granddaughter and called the police. The male was arrested and has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to the public.

Impaired Driving Charges Laid

63-year old Charles Laird of 603 Second Line West was arrested on June 5th just after midnight. It is alleged that the accused was stopped by Canada Custom officers and City Police were then called due to concerns of the accused driving while impaired. The accused was arrested by City Police and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. The accused will appear in court on July 11th.

Fraud

Officers from the Fraud Unit arrested 19-year old Ashley Fischer of 549 Shannon Road on June 3rd. It is alleged that on May 27th the accused stole a purse and wallet from a victim that had attended an event at the Kiwanis Theatre on that date. It is further alleged that the accused used a credit card belonging to the victim to make purchases totaling over $1,000 at various stores in town. The accused has been charged with one count of fraud, one count of theft of a credit card, one count of use stolen credit card and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. She will appear in court on July 11th.

Break and Enters

City Police received 2 reports of break and enters over the weekend. On Friday a homeowner in the 100 block of Westridge Road reported their home had been broken into during the daytime hours, but they are unsure what was taken. A home in the 500 block of Albert Street West was also entered on the 3rd during the daytime hours and thieves made off with a small-undisclosed amount of money.
