Three males to appear in bail court On Saturday June 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 38-year-old male on a charge of assault.
Three males to appear in bail court

On Saturday June 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 38-year-old male on a charge of assault. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his common-law-girlfriend by pushing her and throwing a bottle at her. The victim was not injured. The accused male is charged with one count of assault.

On Friday June 25th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested a19-year-old male on a warrant. It is alleged that Kenny Boyer-Jones, age 19, of no fixed address failed to appear for court on December 21st, 2009. Mr. Boyer- Jones is charged with one count of failing to appear for court.

At approximately 4:00 am Sunday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a young male on Black Rd. for impaired driving. It is alleged that the accused male had care and control of a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by a drug. It is further alleged that the accused falsely identified himself to police as the owner of the vehicle. Police investigation revealed that the vehicle the accused was operating had been reported stolen. The accused is further charged with possession of a controlled substance – approximately 22 grams of marihuana was found in the vehicle and three counts of breach of a recognizance release order. The accused had been released on a recognizance release order to abide by a 9:00 pm curfew, not possess any controlled drugs and keep the peace and be good.

Male arrested for possession of a controlled substance

On Saturday June 26th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team and the Canine Unit arrested a 58-year-old male on three counts of possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that the accused male was in possession of 84 grams of marihuana, one gram of hashish and two nabilone pills. The street value of these drugs is $ 1720.00. Serge Blanchard, age 58 of 410 Pim St. Apt #5 will be appearing in court on July 26th at 9;00 am on these charges.

Break and enters
The laundry room at an apartment in the 900 block of Queen St. E. was entered. Laundry machines were damaged and cash was stolen. A shed was entered in the 400 block of Pine St. A bicycle was stolen. An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Wallace Terr.

Vehicles were entered in the following locations


The 100 block of McNeice St., the 100 block of Creery Ave., the 100 block of Fish Hatchery Rd, the 100 block of Allard St, the 100 block of Ashgrove Ave, the 100 block of Birchwood St. personal papers, identification, cash and electronics were stolen. Bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of Avon Ave, the 100 block of Riverside Dr. and the 100 block Campbell Ave. A BBQ was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Beech St.

Mischief
Homes were damaged in the 100 block of Brock St. and the 100 block of Grand Ave. A vehicle was damaged in the 100 block of Foster Dr. Laundry rooms were damaged at several apartment complexes in the 100 block of Kohler St. and the 700 block of Bay St. Residents of apartments complexes are reminded to report any suspicious persons loitering or using apartment facilities.
