DOMESTIC DISPUTE Yesterday at approximately 1:30 pm, a 28-year-old male was at his residence in the city's west end with his 24-year-old female common-law spouse. The accused became upset when the female refused to purchase beer.

Yesterday at approximately 1:30 pm, a 28-year-old male was at his residence in the city's west end with his 24-year-old female common-law spouse. The accused became upset when the female refused to purchase beer.

The accused began throwing property around the house and he then grabbed the accused by the arms and pushed her into the couch. The victim received minor injuries in the assault. The victim then called police which upset the accused even more and he threatened to kill her.

At 1:40 pm, patrol officers went to the residence and arrested and charged the accused with Assault and Threatening Death. He will appear in court on July 7th.


WOMAN ASSAULTED BY BOYFRIEND
Yesterday, shortly after 6:00 pm, a 21-year-old female came to the Police Services Building advising that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her earlier in the day.

The victim told police that she was struck and spit on by her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend. The victim received minor injuries in the assault. The accused turned himself in at the Police Services Building at 8:30 pm. He has been charged with Assault and will appear in court July 7th.


BREAK & ENTER
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one break-in yesterday. Shortly after midnight a neigbour of an apartment dweller on Second Line West advised police that the apartment might have been entered.

The resident of the apartment was away at the time of the incident. Patrol Officers are continuing their investigation into the incident and request anyone with information on this incident to please contact them at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers


SAFETY PATROLLERS RETURN
Yesterday at 6:00 pm, 36 Safety Patrollers returned from the annual Sault Ste. Marie Safety Patrollers Association Ottawa Safety Patroller Trip.

The Patrollers from various elementary schools involved in the safety patrol program left Sault Ste. Marie for Ottawa on Thursday morning. The student?s trip included a tour of Upper Canada Village, the Parliament Buildings, the Museum of Nature and the Royal Canadian Mint.

The trip was chaperoned by members from the Safety Patrollers Association and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. The Patrollers Association and the participants would like to thank the various service clubs, businesses and agencies for their generous donations, for without them children could not have enjoyed this wonderful educational opportunity!
