Mr. Sub Robbery The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Mr. Sub Shop at 255 Trunk Rd. on Sunday June 18th at approx. 2:55 AM.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Mr. Sub Shop at 255 Trunk Rd. on Sunday June 18th at approx. 2:55 AM. In the incident a lone male entered the store, ordered a soft drink and then produced a large knife and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the shop. The suspect is described as:
Male, Native Canadian, 6’2” tall, stocky build, wearing glasses, unshaven, wearing a light blue ball cap, a light blue hooded sweatshirt and possible a jacket. Suspect had a large knife, which was hidden under his jacket. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers or the Sault Ste Marie City Police.

Break & Enter On Ellis Rd.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is also investigating a break and enter that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Ellis Rd. Culprits forced a rear door to gain entry and then stole cash and computer equipment.

Search Warrant Leads To Drug Bust

On Friday June 16th at approx. 1:15 PM City Police executed a search warrant at a residence at
396 Wallace Terrace. It is alleged that upon searching the residence officers located approx. 20 grams of a substance believed to be Cocaine and $ 900.00 (U.S.). The American money is believed to have been stolen from a break and enter earlier this month.
As a result of the warrant two persons were arrested and charged. Nicola Peter Buonomo, age 47, of 396 Wallace Terrace and Grace Doris Chornobey, age 44, of 396 Wallace Terrace have been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Both accused persons will be appearing in court on Monday July 24th at 9:00 AM.

Cooper Street Man Arressted For Drugs & Break and Enter

On Friday June 16th at approx. 8:00 AM City Police arrested a male person regarding break and enter and drug charges. It is alleged that Frank Caicco did on Friday June 16th have in his possession 28 grams of Crack Cocaine, 7 rocks of Crack Cocaine, 33 grams of Cocaine, 7.7 grams of Marihuana, Codeine pills. It is further alleged that Mr. Caicco did have in his possession: a gold men’s ring and two men’s watches that were reported stolen from a Break and enter earlier this month. Frank Joseph Caicco, age 41, of 633 Cooper St. is charged with 10 counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, 2 counts of possession of property obtained by criom and 2 counts of break and enter. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Routine Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

On Friday June 16th at approx. 1:50 PM City Police arrested a male person as a result of a vehicle stop on Second Line E. It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle, Jimmy Lecours, age 19, of 163 Rue Du Quai, Ste Rose Du Nord, Quebec, had approx. 10 grams of Marihuana in his vehicle. Officers noticed the substance on the front seat of the vehicle during a traffic stop. Mr. Lecours will be appearing in court on Monday Aug. 14th at 9:00 AM.

Assault With Weapon

On Saturday June 17th City Police arrested a 23-year-old female for Assault and Assault with Weapon. It is alleged that on June 14th the accused bit the victim on the arm and then poked him in the ribs with a knife. The victim removed the knife from the accused before he could be seriously injured. Victim did not require medical attention for his injuries. This incident was the result of a domestic argument. The accused is charged with Assault withy a Weapon and Assault and will be appearing in court on Monday July 26th at 9:00 A.M.
