A 24 year old male was arrested early this morning on domestic related mischief charges. It is alleged the accused attended to his ex- girlfriend’s residence in the west end of the City and smashed out a window. The accused will appear in Court on July 18th.

Members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Street Team and the Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Korah Rd on Monday morning. A quantity of Marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $243,000 was located and seized. Charged with Production of Marihuana and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Marihuana is 40 year old Hugh Davin McLaughlin. He is scheduled to appear in Bail Court on the 19th of June.

On the 18th of June 2012, it was reported that members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Street Team and Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Korah Road. It was reported that officers seized marihuana with an estimated street value of $243,000.00.
A total of 285 plants were seized in this investigation, however all of these plants can be described as seedlings that were in the initial stages of growth. Although the current actual value of these plants is not clear, these plants, if cultivated to full size, have the potential to produce marihuana with a street value of $243,000.00.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will not tolerate the existence of illegal drugs in our community. We will continue to aggressively seek out individuals responsible for trafficking these drugs in order to help provide a safer community for us all.

City Police attended to two separate bear sighting calls in the west end of the city early this morning likely involving the same bear. City Police are reminding the public to keep garbage and any other items bears may be attracted to covered, locked up or put away.
Bail Court Appearance Arrests/Charged Persons with Court Appearance Dates:
37 year old Barry WRIGHT of 126 Bruce St. will appear in court on 16 July 2012 having been charged with having care and control of a vehicle when he had consumed alcohol in such a quantity that the concentration of alcohol in his blood exceeded eighty milligrams. Mr. Wright was stopped for a traffic infraction on Dennis Street and was arrested after failing a roadside screening device test and subsequent breath test.

59 year old Craig Herriman of No Fixed Address was arrested for failing to attend court on a previous theft charge. He will also appear in court on 16 July 2012.
