Robbery at Pharma Plus on Churchill Boulevard:

Investigation Services with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service are currently investigating a robbery at Pharma Plus on Churchill Boulevard that occurred at approximately 10:09 am this morning. A lone male walked into the pharmacy, produced a note that said he had a gun and demanded oxycontin. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of the prescription medication and the male fled on foot from the pharmacy. No weapon was produced and no physical injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a male, around 25-30 years old, approximately 5’11”, around 180-200 pounds, medium build, scruffy black hair, with moustache, brown eyes, wearing an oversized navy hoodie and a dark ball hat with writing on it.

Missing Person Located:

Missing Person Michael Fabbricino was located last evening in good condition. The Sault Ste Marie Police Service would like to thank all media and the public for their assistance in locating this missing person.

Domestic Related Arrested for Bail Court Appearance this Morning:

1) A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 5th of July at 3:10 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the 3rd of July the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by punching her in the face. The assault took place at the cottage of the accused. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

2) A 21 year-old male was arrested on the 4th of July at 7:52 at his residence and charged with three count of breach of a conditional sentence order. It is alleged that on the 4th of July the accused got into an argument with his common-law spouse at their residence. At the time of the incident he was under the influence of alcohol and on conditions not to consume any alcohol, to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to harass, molest or annoy the victim from previous domestic related incidents.

3) A 31 year-old male was arrested on the 5th of July at 6:18 am at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 5th of July at approximately 5:30 am the accused assaulted his girlfriend at his residence by punching her several times in the face and head. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

Impaired Driver Arrested:

48 year-old Joseph Duguay of #1-4012 Queen Street East was arrested on the 5th of July at 12:05 am on Queen Street East and charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 4th of July the accused was observed by city police operating a 1995 Plymouth Neon in the area of East Street with the front driver’s tire flat and burning off the rim. The vehicle was also swerving in and out of two lanes. Officers were able to stop the vehicle on Queen Street East and at the time the driver, the accused, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. At the time of his arrested he was found in possession of approximately 5 grams of hash oil. He is to appear in court on the 10th of August.

Male Arrested for Criminal Harassment:

A 40 year-old male was arrested on the 4th of July at 8:18 pm at his residence and charged with one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that from the 15th of May until the 5th of July the accused criminally harassed his ex-girlfriend by sending her letters, continoulsy calling her and leaving her text messages and driving by her residence, after being warned by police to stop. He is to appear in court on the 12th of August.

Out-of Control Intoxicated Male Arrested:

35 year-old Walter Miller of 329 Alexandra Street was arrested on the 3rd of July at 8:32 pm on John Street and charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000.00 and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 3rd of July just after 8 pm city police were called to the Tim Hortons on John Street regarding an out of control male that was jumping on vehciles in the parking lot and confronting customers. When officers arrived they found the accused in an intoxicated state and discovered that a vehicle had received damage to the antenna. He is to appear in court on the 10th of August.

Landlord Charged with Theft from Tenant’s Apartment:

47 year-old Frank Barone of 115 Albert Street East was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 on the 5th of July at 9:44 pm at his residence after he allegedly stole a television from his previous tenant’s Wellington Street East apartment sometime during the month of June. He is to appear in court on the 10th of August.

Female Shoplifter Arrested:

27 year-old Lynn Kwissiwa of #1A-696 Pine Street was arrested on the 3rd of July at 2:20 pm at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, two counts of breach of probation, one count of transportation fraud and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 3rd of July at approximately 1:20 pm the accused attended at the store and stole some men’s shirts. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. At the time of her arrest she was found in possession of a small amount of morphine and officers also discovered that she was wanted on outstanding warrants for transportation fraud and breach of probation.

Property Crimes Reported over the Weekend:

Break and Enter Reports:


• A residence on Goetz Street was entered sometime overnight on the 4th of July. Medication was reported stolen.
• A residence on Campbell Avenue was reported entered sometime between the 3rd of July after 2 pm and the 5th at 1 pm. A flat screen television and some cash were reported stolen.
• A residence in the 100 block of Willoughby Street was entered during the early morning hours on the 5th of July. A Wii system with approximately six games, a Canon ZR85 video camera and some cash were reported stolen.
• A residence in the 200 block of East Balfour Street was entered sometime over the weekend. A television, a computer, a Laptop and a game system were reported stolen.

Thefts:

• Vehicles were entered in the areas of West DunRobin Bay, 1000 block of McNabb Street, Fairmount Drive, Hugill Street. Items reported stolen included a purse with a passport inside, change, a GPS, and a faceplate for a stereo.


• Bicycles were stolen from Indiana Drive, Weldon Street and Mary Avenue. Some of the bikes included a silver Schwinn mountain bike and a blue BMX Kawasaki.

• A cream coloured park bench was stolen from the property of a residence on Arden Street.
