Youth Charged with 2 Counts of Mischief

On Friday July 1st at approx. 4:50 AM City Police arrested a 17 year old youth on Cambridge Pl. It is alleged that the youth committed 2 counts of Mischief, 2 counts of Breach of Probation, a Theft Under $ 5,000. and a Possession Under $ 5,000. The charges were laid after the accused was found breaking into vehicles on Cambridge Pl. The accused was also on Probation with Curfew and Keep the Peace conditions. The youth will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Failure to Remain and Impaired Driving Charges

Saturday July 2nd at approx. 2:30 AM City Police arrested 65-year-old Mike Palanychka, of 694 Shafer St. Mr. Palanychka was charged with Fail to Remain, Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80mgs. The accused allegedly was operating his vehicle in an Impaired condition when he struck another vehicle. The accused left the scene and was stopped by the police. At the time of his arrested the accused was noticeably Impaired. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 8trh at 9:00 AM.

Impaired Driving Charges Laid Against Male

On Sunday July 3rd at approx. 1:10 AM City Police arrested 42 year old Guy Bellemare, of 134 Spadina Ave. and charged him with Drive Over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused was operating his motor vehicle on Wellington St. W. in an Impaired condition when the City Police R.I.D.E. Program stopped him. The accused failed a roadside screening device test. He will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 8th at 9:00 AM on the charge.

Drug Charges Laid

The RI.D.E. Program was also responsible for the arrest of 26-year-old Joshua Daiter, of 10 Black Cherry Cres, Barrie. It is alleged that the accused was operating a motor vehicle on Great Northern Rd. at approx.11:00 Pm when he was stopped by the R.I.D.E. team. Upon speaking to the driver officers detected the odour of cannabis in the vehicle. As a result approx. 6 grams of marihuana were found in the vehicle. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be approx. $ 120.00. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 8th at 9:00 AM on a charge of Possession of a Control Substance.

Domestic Dispute

A domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male on Sunday afternoon. It is alleged that at approx. 4:30 PM on July 3rd the accused was involved in a custody dispute which resulted in police being called. The accused made threats towards the police and was subsequently arrested. Upon his arrest a search was performed and a prohibited weapon was found on the accused.
The weapon, a knife that opens with the use of centrifugal force was seized. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 8th at 9:00 AM.

Male Breaks and Enters, then Assaults Victim

Early Sunday morning, at approx. 1:00 AM City Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Grace St. regarding an assault and a break and enter. Upon arrival officers located 34-year-old Jerry Allan Leveille, of no fixed address. It is alleged that Mr. Leveille entered the victim’s residence and assaulted the victim by punching him in the face. The victim did not require medical assistance as result of the assault. It is not known if the victim and the accused are known to one another. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
