Ten persons to appear in bail court
On Friday July 22nd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for breach of probation. It is alleged that between March 20th, 2011 and July 14th, 2011 the accused contacted his ex-common-law wife on three different occasions. At the time of theses offences the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to not communicate with his ex-partner. The accused male is charged with three counts of breach of probation.

On Friday July 22nd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 28-year-old male on a warrant for assault. It is alleged that on March 11th, 2011 the accused assaulted a person known to him. Brent Garson, age 28, of 136 Riley Rd, Echo Bay is charged with one count of assault. The victim did not require medical attention.

On Saturday July 23rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18-year-old male for break and enter, possession of stolen property and several breaches. It is alleged that on July 23rd the accused broke into residences in the 100 block of Poplar Ave and the 100 block of Montgomery Ave. It is further alleged that when arrested officers found stolen property on the accused. At the time of these offenses the accused was on a recognizance release order and on probation. Jeff Leclair, age 18, of 652 MacDonald Ave, Apt# 301 is charged with two counts of break and enter, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of a recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

On Saturday July 23rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38-year-old male for resisting arrest and a warrant. It is alleged that on June 6th the accused failed to appear at the Sault Ste. Marie Police station for the purpose of identification. It further alleged that on July 23rd the accused resisted officers attempting to arrest him on the warrant. Laurence Gatza, age 38, of 33 Crystal Pl Apt # 5 is charged with one count of resist arrest and one count of failing to appear for identification.

On Sunday July 24th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for assault and mischief. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife and damaged a screen door at her residence. The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

On Sunday July 24th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 34-year-old male for assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law partner by throwing a laptop computer at her. It is further alleged that the accused also assaulted the victim. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.

On Sunday July 24th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 54-year-old male for assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused male pulled a knife on his ex-common-law partner. The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon. The victim was not injured.

On Sunday July 24th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22-year-old female for assault and threatening. It is alleged that the accused threatened to kill a person known to her. It is further alleged that the accused later assaulted the victim. Victoria Lariviere, age 22 of no fixed address is charged with one count of threatening death and one count of assault. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

On Sunday July 24th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for breach of a recognizance and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused male breached conditions of his recognizance release order by communicating with a person he prohibited from communicating with. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation. Christopher Costa, age 29, of 40 Lombardi Cres, Brampton, Ontario is charged with one count of breach of a recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

On Monday July 25th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 34-year-old female for breach of a peace bond. It is alleged that on July 4th the accused contacted her ex-partner-common-law. The accused is charged with one count of breaching a peace bond.

Male arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon
On Saturday July 23rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 19-year-old male for possession of a prohibited weapon, assault with a weapon and threatening death. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted a person known to him by spraying the victim with pepper spray. It is further alleged that the accused threatened to kill the victim. Brandon Tusten, age 19, of 274 Bainbridge St. is charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening death. Mr. Tusten is to appear in court on Aug. 29th at 9:00 am.

Mischief
A home was damaged in the 100 block of McFadden Ave.

A home in the 100 block of Pim St. had windows broken.

Vehicles were damaged in the 200 block of Queen St. E and the 200 block of Great Northern Rd.

A fence was damaged at a business in the 700 block of Black Rd.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received four reports of break and enter over the weekend.

A residence in the 100 block of Tancred St was entered- it is unknown at this time what was stolen.

A residence in the 200 block of Second Line W was entered – electronics were stolen.

A residence in the 100 block of Princeton dr. was entered.

A guitar and amplifier were stolen. A white van with two males and one female were seen leaving the scene.

An attempted break and enter was reported to a residence in the 600 block of Northern Ave.

Theft
Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
The 200 block of Great Northern Rd. – three vehicles were entered

The 600 block of Queen St. E. – unknown what was taken.

The 400 block of Korah Rd. – a wallet was stolen.

The 100 block of Tancred St. – electronics were stolen.

The 700 block of Lennox Ave- a purse was stolen.

A red Yamaha ATV was stolen from the 100 block of Glenwood Ave.

Cash was stolen from offices in the 100 block of Foster Dr. and the 200 block of Great Northern Rd.

A bike was stolen from the 100 block of McPhail Ave.

Beer was stolen from a garage in the 400 block of Boundary Rd.

Electronics were stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Albert St. W.

Jewellery was stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Dacey Rd.
