Four persons to appear in bail court: 1) On Friday July 18th at 10:05 am city police arrested a 38-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of threatening death.
Four persons to appear in bail court:

1) On Friday July 18th at 10:05 am city police arrested a 38-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of threatening death. It is alleged that between June 1st and July 1st 2008 the accused did threaten to kill his ex-common-law wife and one of her children. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted his step-son by throwing two coffee cups at him and then pulling out a knife and threatening to stab the step-son. The victims did not require medical attention.

2) On Saturday July 19th at approx. 9:00 am city police were called to the east end of the city regarding a male person wandering through backyards. Upon arrival police officers located a 37-year-old male in an intoxicated condition. It is alleged that the accused male had breached his recognizance release order by consuming alcohol, being out past his 9:00 pm curfew and communicating with his ex-wife. The accused is charged with three counts of breach of recognizance. The release orders relate to domestic charges.

3) On Sunday July 20th city police were called to Kelly’s Grocers, in the Station Mall regarding a theft. Upon arrival officers were informed that a male person, in company of a female stole some meat from the store. After obtaining a description of the suspect police located the two persons on Queen St. E. near Gore St. It is alleged that Shawn Harriman, age 38, of 40 Queen St. E. unit # 1 stole a steak, valued at $ 7.00 from Kelly’s Grocers, the meat item was located on the accused. It is further alleged that Mr. Harriman failed to appear for court on June 30th. He is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00 and one count of fail to appear for court.
The female in company with the accused was arrested and charged with one count of breach of an undertaking and failing to appear for court. It is alleged that Louise Desmoulin, age 34, of 40 Queen St. E. unit # 1 failed to appear for court on June 23rd and breach of an undertaking by attending on the property of Station Mall.

Female arrested for mischief and breaches:

On Saturday July 19th at approx. 5:00 pm city police were called to a residence in the west end of the city regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant and received information regarding the noise complaint. As a result of the complaint police officers arrested 29-year-old Miranda Corbiere of 151 Goulais Ave and charged her with one count of mischief, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of an undertaking. It is alleged that the accused was causing mischief - by yelling and playing loud music thereby preventing the victim from enjoying her property. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and further that she was also on an undertaking release to not molest or harass the complainant. The accused will be appearing in court on Sept 8th at 9:00 am.

Break and enters:

City police were called to investigate three break and enters over the weekend.

1. A residence in the 1000 block of Wellington St. W. was entered - jewellery and electronic equipment were stolen.
2. A shed was entered in the 100 block of Queensgate Blvd. -unknown what was taken.
3. The Medicine Shoppe, 316 Second Line W. was broken into at approx. 3:50 am on July 20th - prescription drugs were stolen. A dark coloured vehicle was seen leave the area.

Mischief:

Vehicles parked in the following locations had windows damaged:

1. The 100 block of Henrietta St.
2. The 300 block of McNabb St.
3. The 700 block of Dyment St.
4. The 400 block of Lake St.

Residences had windows damaged at the following locations:

The 100 block of James St.
The 700 block of Wellington St. W.

Thefts:

Vehicles were entered at the following locations:

1. The 300 block of Glasgow Ave- groceries were stolen
2. The 200 block of Reid St. - a satellite phone was stolen
3. The 100 block of LaSalle Crt - cheques and personal papers were stolen.
4. The 100 block of Strand Ave- CD’s were stolen
5. The 400 block of Borden Ave - a wallet was stolen.
6. The 100 block of Sunnydale Rd. - A tape deck and a camera were taken
7. The 100 block of Elliott Rd. - unknown at this time what was stolen.
8. The 100 block of Market St. - a cell phone was stolen.

A gold watch was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Queen St. W.

Bicycles were stolen from the 500 block of Connaught Ave and from The Station Mall.

The public is reminded to help prevent the growing number of thefts from vehicles by removing all valuables from their vehicles.
