Three persons to appear in bail court On Saturday July 16th, 2011 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 40-year-old male for assault, sexual assault and threatening.
Three persons to appear in bail court
On Saturday July 16th, 2011 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 40-year-old male for assault, sexual assault and threatening. It is alleged that between August 1995 and October 2010 the accused sexually assaulted his ex-wife on two occasions. It is further alleged that during the same period of time the accused assaulted his ex-wife on ten different occasions. It is further alleged that the accused threatened to injure his ex-wife if she reported these incidents to the police. The accused is charged with one count of threatening, two counts of sexual assault and ten counts of assault.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old male for breach of recognizance and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused youth was walking in the downtown area at 10:15 pm thereby breaching his 9:00 pm curfew. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. The youth is charged with one count of breach of a recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

On Saturday July 16th, 2011 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32-year-old male for threatening, causing a disturbance and breach of probation. It is alleged that while being released from the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre the accused threatened to kill members of the staff. It is further alleged that when police stopped the accused on Great Northern Rd. the accused was causing a disturbance by yelling. At the time of these offences the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Michael Fabbricino, age 32, of 306 Korah Rd. Apt #18 is charged with one count of threatening death, one count of causing a disturbance and one count of breach o f probation.

Males charged with assault
On Friday July 15th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his girlfriend by shoving her and pinning her down. Victim did not require medical attention. The accused male is charged with one count of assault and is top appear in court on Aug 24th at 9:30 am.

On Sunday July 17th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 41-year-old a male for assault. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his son by grabbing him around the neck and throwing him. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault but did not require medical attention. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated break and enters to residences in the 300 block of Farwell Terr, the 1300 block of Wellington St. E, the 900 block of Fifth Line E and the 800 block of Fifth Line E. Electronic items were stolen. Two suspects were seen fleeing from a break and enter in the 800 block of Fifth Line E. The suspects are described as being: Male, white, late teens to early 20’s, 5’8” tall, one had a thin build the second was stockier and had a shaved head.

Fire
The Sault Ste. Marie Fire and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a fire call to the old Northern Breweries site, at 503 Bay St. regarding a fire inside the premises. The fire was suspicious in nature. The incident occurred on Saturday July 16th at approximately 3:30 pm.

Mischief
Vehicles were reported damaged in the following locations:
The 300 block of Huron St. – tires were slashed and windshield was damaged.

The 400 block of Albert St. E

The 400 block of Pim St.

The 200 block of Meadow park Cres.

The 100 block of Bitonti Cres. – Vehicle was spray painted.

The 200 block of St. Mary’s River Dr.

Windows were reported broken to a business in the 200 block of Bruce St and a residence in the 100 block of Nichols Ave

A garden was vandalized in the 100 block of Cathcart St.

A mailbox was damaged ion the 500 block of Second Line W.

Theft
Vehicles were reported entered in the following locations:
The 100 block of Laura St. – a purse was stolen.

The 200 block of Alexandra St. – a purse was stolen.

The 200 block and 400 blocks of Sussex Rd – Passports, cash and liquor were stolen.

The 100 block of great Northern Rd- a purse was stolen.

The 100 block of Greenview Lane – electronics were stolen.

Bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of

Cambridge Pl and the 200 block of Second Line W.

Jewellery was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Ferguson Ave.
