Two Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance This Morning

A 24 year-old male was arrested on the 24th of January at 3:44 pm at a local residence and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of possession of a firearm while prohibited, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized and one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime. It is alleged that on Saturday the 23rd of January at approximately 3 am the accused assaulted his girlfriend while at a friend’s residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. The accused was arrested on the 24th of January at 3:44 pm at a residence where the victim was staying and at the time he was found in possession of several rounds of ammunition and a stolen handgun. The accused was on a prohibition order not to possess any weapons or ammunition and did not have authorization to possess the firearm.

A 19 year-old male was arrested on the 23rd of January at 4:30 am at the police station and charged with one count of assault and one count of overcome resistance by choking. It is alleged that on the 23rd of January the accused assaulted and attempted to choke his common law partner while at their residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

Male Arrested after Uttering Forged Prescriptions at Several Local Pharmacies

40 year-old Roger Mitchell of 198 Old Highway 17N Goulais River Ontario was arrested on the 22nd of January at 3:29 pm at a the Shoppers Drug Mart on Second Line West where he allegedly attempted to obtain medication with a forged prescription. Officers investigating the fraud discovered that the accused made several other attempts at other local pharmacies. It is alleged that on the 17th of January the accused attended at the Station Mall Drug Mart at 293 Bay Street with a forged prescription from the Group Health Center and received Fentanyl patches with it. On the 22nd of January he attended at the Zellers Drug Mart on Bay Street with a forged prescription for Fentanyl patches but was refused by staff. Approximately three hours later, he attended at the Metro Pharmacy on Northern Avenue and attempted to use the same forged prescription, but was once again denied by the pharmacist. He has been charged with three counts of utter a forged document and one count of breach of probation.

Female Impaired Driver Arrested

45 year-old Wendy Biron of #2-152 Second Line West was arrested on the 24th of January at 8:15 pm on Second Line West and charged with one count of impaired riving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on The 24th of January just after 8 pm, City police received information regarding a possible impaired driver on Second Line West. When officers located and checked the driver in a local convenience store parking lot, they found her to be under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently arrested. She is to attend in court on the 1st of March.

Male Arrested for Noise Complaint Mischief

Norman Bourgeois, 21, of 60 Atwater Street was arrested on the 24th of January at 2:30 am on Atwater Street and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that city police were called to residence of the accused for a noise disturbance call on the 24th of January. His court date is the 1st of March.

Break and Enter Reports

• A residence on Forest Avenue was entered over the weekend. A television and an X-Box were reported stolen.
• A residence on Elgin Street was entered Friday during the day. Hunting knives were reported stolen.

Theft Reports

Vehicles were entered on Queen Street West and Queen Street East and one on Greenfield Drive was reported damaged. A passport and a purse were reported stolen from the vehicles on Queen Street.
