Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Caleb Seaton of #3A-427 Wellington Street East on an outstanding warrant on the 15th of January at the police station.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Caleb Seaton of #3A-427 Wellington Street East on an outstanding warrant on the 15th of January at the police station. He has been charged with one count of robbery, one count of aggravated assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for an incident that took place on the 19th of December when he attended at the residence of a male known to him, assaulted him and took his prescription medication, a lottery ticket, some liquor and his wallet. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that required medical attention during the incident.

Domestic Related Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 36 year-old male on the 16th of January at his residence and charged him with one count of assault and one count of one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 16th of January at 10:00 am officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the residence of the accused and once they arrived that discovered that he had assaulted his common law spouse. When arrested, the accused was found in possession of 27.8 grams of marijuana packaged in three separate baggies and a set of digital scales.

A 32 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 15th of January and charged with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on that date officers found him in the company of a female he was on conditions that he was not to communicate with due to past domestic related incident. He was also to keep the peace and be good.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29 year-old male on the 16th of January at 5:42 pm and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 16th of January the accused attended at the residence of his ex-common law spouse and kicked in her front door damaging it. The accused is to appear in court on the 23rd of February.

Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested an 18 year-old female on the 15th of January at 1:45 pm in the downtown area after responding to a domestic dispute regarding a male and female fighting in that area. When officers arrived the male and female fled on foot. Officers were able to stop and speak to the female who was uncooperative with them and refused to identity herself. Officers found her to be in possession of a knife that opened with centrifugal force. As a result, the female was charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon and is to appear in court ton the 28th of February.

Impaired Driver Arrested after Single Motor Vehicle Collision
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47 year-old Peggy Archambault of 1715 Trunk Road on the 15th of January at 3:15 am on Trunk Road and charged her with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 15th of January at approximately 3:02 am the accused was involved in a single motor vehicle collision on Trunk Road that involved her vehicle striking a light pole near Fournier Road.

Officers responded to the collision and found that the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol. No injuries were reported and the pole and vehicle received a moderate amount of damage. She was subsequently arrested and is to appear in court on the 28th of February.

Shoplifter Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34 year-old Matthew Russell on the 15th of January at 4:55 pm at Zellers at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of Enter premises when entry prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act. It is alleged that on the 15th of January 1:55 pm the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole a CD Boom Box. At the time of the incident the accused was prohibited from entering the Mall. The accused is to attend in court on the 14th of February.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 29 year-old Loretta Carey of 109 James Street (main) on the 14th of January at 9:29 on Albert Street East on an outstanding warrant and charged her with one count of fail to appear for prints and count of fail to appear for court. She is now to appear in court on the 21st of February.

Break and Enter Reports
• A break and enter was reported to an apartment on Second Line West at approximately 1:50 am this morning. The residents were home at the time and observed a male inside the residence after hearing a loud bang. The male suspect was dressed in black and carrying either a bat or possibly a gun. The suspect fled on foot with a cell phone and was then observed outside with two more males dressed in black. All of the males got into a sliver coloured vehicle and left the area. No injuries were reported to the residents. Police searched the area with negative results. No further description was provided. The investigation is ongoing.
• A room at a local east end motel was entered at approximately 3:15 am this morning when the occupant was inside asleep. The teen male was in an intoxicated state and fled when occupant confronted him. Nothing was reported taken. The male was in his teens, approximately 5’6”, thin build and wearing a black winter coat, toque and hood.
• A shed and shipping containers at the rear of a business compound in the 900 block of McNabb Street was broken into sometime between Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
• A residence in the 300 block of Pine Shores Drive was broken into sometime over the past month. A chainsaw, a Burton Snowboard, clothing and video games were reported stolen.
• A residence on Creery Avenue was entered on the 16th of January. Stereo equipment and number of tools and were reported stolen.
• A shed on Fauquier Avenue was entered sometime between the 14th and 15th of January. A Big Jake Chainsaw was reported stolen.
• Pallets were removed from a construction site in the 800 block of Great Northern Road on the 16th of January at around 2:08 pm. A white truck was observed leaving the area.

Theft Reports
• Vehicles were entered on Kent Crescent, Pinemore Boulevard, Braemar Bay and from a business and Alberta Avenue. A number of tools and some ice fishing equipment were reported stolen.
• A purse was stolen on the city bus. Prescription medication was reported stolen.
