The following three persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) A 46 year-old male was arrested on the 11th of January at 12:08 pm at his west end residence and charged with one count of assault.
The following three persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) A 46 year-old male was arrested on the 11th of January at 12:08 pm at his west end residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on this date the accused got into a verbal argument with his wife at their residence and assaulted her by pushing her. There were no injuries reported to the victim.

2) A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 12th of January at 5:20 pm on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Just ice Act. It is alleged that on the 12th of January at approximately 3:30 pm the accused was walking with his ex-girlfriend on Willow Avenue when the two got into a verbal argument and the accused pushed the victim. There were no injuries reported to the victim. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

3) On the 11th of January at approximately 9 pm City police attended at a west end residence regarding a police assistance call. When officers attended a 26 year-old male and a 26 year-old female were present. Officers ran a check on the male and discovered that he was on a bail recognizance order from a previous domestic assault with this female that he not communicate or associate with her. They further discovered that he was now living with her and had not notified city police of his change of address, another release condition. There was also an outstanding warrant for the accused for failing to appear in court on the 28th of September on the assault charge.
When officers were in the residence they located approximately 75 grams of cocaine.
As a result the male was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of breach of a release order and one count of fail to appear court. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
The female was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and is to appear in court on the 25th of February.

Impaired Driving

1) 21 year-old Joel Douglas of 4081 Third Line West was arrested on the 14th of January at 1:32 am ON Second Line East and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over legal limit. It is alleged that on the 14th of January around 2:28 am city police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver that was operating a Chev Cavalier in the parking lot of a centrally located restaurant and that the vehicle almost struck a snow plow that was plowing in the lot. There was further information received that the vehicle struck a snow bank and a pole when attempting to enter the lot. Officers checking the area, observed the vehicle northbound on Sackville Road. Police were able to stop the vehicle on Second Line East and discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 25th of February.

2) 37 year-old Kevin Skanes of 74 Sharon Crescent was arrested on the 12th of January at 3:25 am at Canada Customs on Huron Street and charged with one count of consume over legal limit. It is alleged that on the 12th of January at around 3 am the accused was operating a Ford Pick up and was stopped and checked by Customs when entering the city. The accused was given a road side screening breathalyzer test and failed. He is to appear in court on the 25th of February.

Armed Robbery at Mac's

City Police are currently investigating an armed robbery from overnight t. The robbery occurred at 2:10 am at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Queen Street East. A lone male wearing a silver mask and a dark hoody, entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded money and cigarettes. The clerk complied with the demands and the male fled of foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a package of players cigarettes. Officers checked the area with negative results. The clerk was not physically harmed. The male was described as approximately 5’10”, 245 pounds, dark hair, wearing a black hoody , black clothing and a mask described as a hard plastic type mask that was silver in colour.

The following break and enters were reported over the weekend;

1) A residence on Douglas Street was entered on the 11th of January sometime during the day. Some money was reported stolen.

2) There was an attempt break and enter to the North Town Fuels on Great Northern Road that occurred on the 14th of January at 1:39 pm.

3) The storage area of an apartment complex was entered sometime between the 25th of December and the 11th of January. Some tools, an amp and some speakers were reported stolen.
