Male arrested for threatening: On Friday February 3 rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 50-year-old male for threatening.

Male arrested for threatening:

On Friday February 3rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 50-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that on February 2nd the accused threatened to cause bodily harm to a female person known to him. David White, age 50, of 5 Wilcox Ave is charged with one count of threatening bodily harm.

Female arrested for impaired driving:

On Saturday February 4th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 47-year-old female for impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused was operating her vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol on the International Bridge. The accused was stopped by officers from the Canada Customs and Border Services, arrested and turned over to city police. Shelly Hamlin, age 47, of 6196 W. State St., Pellston, Michigan is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs.

Male arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance:

On Friday February 3rd members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Street Team with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit and the O.P.P. Canine Unit arrested a 57-year-old male for trafficking in a controlled substance. It is alleged that on February 2nd the accused male sold marihuana to an undercover police officer on two separate occasions. It is further alleged that a search of the accused person’s residence resulted in the seizure of 35.5 grams marihuana. The street value of the drugs is $ 990.00 Melvin Harper, age 57, of 166 Bruce St. is charged with  one count of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts trafficking in a controlled substance.

Male arrested for unlawfully being in a dwelling and breach of probation:

Early yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male for being unlawfully in a dwelling and breaching conditions of his probation. It is alleged that on Saturday February 4th the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and stole personal property from the victim. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Male arrested for threatening:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that yesterday morning the accused threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend. The accused is charged with one count of threatening.

Male youth arrested for theft under $ 5,000:

Last night members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male for theft under $ 5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Metro Store at 248 Northern Ave and stole meat products valued at $50. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to city police. The accused is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Female arrested for impaired driving and breach of an undertaking:

Early yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35-year-old female for impaired driving, drive over 80 mgs and breach of an undertaking. It is alleged that the accused was operating her vehicle on South Market St. while under the influence of alcohol. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on an undertaking release order to not consume alcohol. Marlo Dorazio, age 35, of 726 Wellington St. W. is charged with one count of impaired riving, one count of driving over 80 mgs and one count of breach of an undertaking. Ms. Dorazio is to appear for court on March 5th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for failure to provide breath samples:

On Friday February 3rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old for failure to provide a breath sample. It is alleged that the accused male was operating his motor vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol, on Second Line E. and Black Rd. when he was involved in a single motor vehicle collision. It is further alleged that when officers arrived the accused refused to provide breath samples. Jeffrey Davies, age 21, of 37 Raymond St. is charged with one count of failure to provide a breath sample. Mr. Davies is to appear in court on March 5th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for assault:

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 28-year-old for assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife. Victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault and is to appear in court on March 21st at 9:30 am.

Male arrested for theft under $ 5,000:

On Saturday February 4th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 58-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Food Basics Store, 625 Trunk Rd and stole two bags filled with groceries. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to the city police. Ronald Sharpe, age 58, of 64 Glenwood Ave is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000. Mr. Sharpe is to appear in court on March 5th at 9:00 am.

Female arrested for theft:

On Friday February 3rd members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old female for theft. It is alleged that the accused stole $ 23.47 worth of merchandise from the Zellers Store in the Station Mall. Accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to the city police. Crystal L’Heureux, age 37, of 75 James St. is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000. Ms. L’Heureux is to appear in court on March 6th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for possession of controlled substance:

On Friday February 3rd members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 59-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that while police were executing a search warrant, at a residence on Bruce St., the accused was found to be in possession of 10 grams of marihuana. The estimated street value of the drug is $ 200. Clifford Maluono, age 59, of 166 Bruce St is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Maluono is to appear in court on March 5th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter:

City police received three of break and enter this past weekend.

  • A cottage on Creek Rd was entered and a wood stove was stolen.
  • Residences in the 100 and 1100 blocks of Wallace Terr. were entered. Cash and jewellery were stolen.

Mischief:

  • A bus shelter was damaged on Brien Ave.
  • Windows on a business in the 100 block of Second Line W. were damaged.
  • Vehicles were reported damaged in the 100 block of Princeton Dr. and the 300 block of Cathcart St.
  • A window was damaged at a business in the 300 block of Great Northern Rd.

Theft:

  • Three vehicles were reported entered over the weekend.
  • Jewellery and clothing were stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Pim St.
  • Sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Johnson Ave.
  • A briefcase was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Salisbury Ave.
  •  A black 1982 Yamaha snow machine was stolen from the 300 block of Goulais Ave.
