Four Persons Arrested in Relation To Domestic Related Incidents: One female and three males were arrested by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service over the past weekend in relation to domestic related incidents.

Four Persons Arrested in Relation To Domestic Related Incidents:

One female and three males were arrested by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service over the past weekend in relation to domestic related incidents.  All four are to appear in bail court this morning.  

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

A female is to appear in bail court this morning for allegedly missing court on the 15th of February in relation to probation and parole charges.  Christine Miller, age 36, of #6-196 James was charged with one count fail to appear court.

Inmate at Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre arrested for Causing False Fire Alarm:

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Michael Gingras of no fixed address on the 25th of February at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged him with one count of cause false fire alarm.  It is alleged that on the 25th of February at approximately 8:45 pm the accused started a fire in his cell by the air vent.  The smoke from the fire caused the alarm to go off.  The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of March.

Female Arrested for Assaulting Security Guard at Local Bar:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26 year-old Carrie Maki of 29 Grosvenor Avenue on the 25th of February at 1 am at a local bar and charged her with one count of assault.  It is alleged that on that evening around 12:45 am, the accused assaulted a security guard that was escorting her out of the bar.  The victim received non-life threatening injuries, not requiring medical attention.  The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of March.

Two Females Charged in Relation to Shoplifting Incidents:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged two females on the 24th of February in relation to shoplifting incidents that occurred on that date.  Elsie Roberts, age 35, of no fixed address is charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 for allegedly stealing merchandise at Sears and Shirley Arcand, age 40,  of #606-77 Allard Street was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 after she allegedly stole merchandise at Wal-Mart.  Both are to appear in court on the 26th of March.  

Break and Enter/Theft Reports:

  • A residence on Pine Street was entered over the weekend.  
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a business on Second Line East.
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a business on James Street.
  • A storage unit on John Street was broken into on the over the past two months.  A large amount of music equipment was reported stolen.
  • Gas was stolen form a U-Haul on Bruce Street over the past 10 days.
