Five persons to appear in Bail court: 1) On Friday February 20th at11:05 pm city police responded to a 911 call to a west end residence. Upon arrival officers spoke to the female complainant and subsequently arrested a 54-year-old male.

1) On Friday February 20th at11:05 pm city police responded to a 911 call to a west end residence. Upon arrival officers spoke to the female complainant and subsequently arrested a 54-year-old male. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law partner by throwing a beer bottle at her, slapping her in the face and punching her twice. The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon
(a beer bottle). The victim did not require medical attention.

2) On Friday February 20th at approx. 12:10 pm city police were called to the 500 block of John St. regarding a neighbour dispute. It is alleged that the accused, Emelia Sicoli was harassing the complainant at his residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on a court release order with conditions to not molest or harass the complainant. Emilia Sicoli is charged with one count of breach of an undertaking.

3) On Saturday February 21st city police arrested a 24-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on Thursday February 19th the accused assaulted his girlfriend by pulling her hair, head butting her, punching her in the stomach and bending her fingers back. The victim suffered minor injuries to her hand but did not require medical treatment.

4) Last evening city police were called to a west end group home regarding a threatening call. Upon arrival officers were informed that two residents were involved in an argument and that one of the residents threatened to kill the other resident. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation. As a result officers arrested a 16-year-old male and charged him with one count of threatening and two counts of breach of probation.

5) On Sunday Feb 22nd at approx4:05 am city police were called to McDonald’s on Great Northern Rd regarding a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival officers located the male and determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused then resisted being arrested. The accused was restrained and taken to the station. At the time of his arrest the accused identified himself as Andrew Cormier, age 21 of 775 Hwy 17 North, Heyden. The accused was charged with one count of resist arrest, one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80mgs. He was subsequently release on a release document. Further investigation by officers revealed that the accused had personated Andrew Cormier and his name was in fact Ryan Hill, age 29 of 5 Peace Tree Dr., Heyden. At 10:05 pm the accused was located and arrested on the new charges. At the time of his second arrested the accused made two threats to the arresting officers. The accused is charged with one count of resist arrest, one count of impaired driving, one count of drive over 80mgs, one count of breach of an undertaking, one count of personation and two counts of threatening.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enters:


City police investigated five reports of break and enter over the weekend.
Residences in the 100 block of Kitchener Rd and the 100 block of Anita Blvd were entered- small amounts of jewellery were stolen.
Residences in the 100 block of Boundary Rd and Elmwood Ave were entered – it is not known at this time what was taken.
An attempted entry was made to a residence in the 100 block of Estelle St.

The city police would like to remind the public that many of these break and enters are occurring during daytime hours. Please help us reduce the number of break-ins by reporting any suspicious activities in your neighborhoods.

Mischief:

A residence in the 400 block of John St. was egged.
A window was broken at a residence in the 100 block of Wellington St. W.
Tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Bruce St.

Thefts:

Vehicles were entered in the following locations: the 1100 block of Goulais Ave, the 100 block of Glen Ave, the 100 block of Summit Ave, the 100 block of Lewis Rd, the 100 block of Albert St. W and from a vehicle parked on Gloucester St.
