DRIVER FROM MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION ON FEBRUARY 8TH SUCCUMBS TO HIS INJURIES. On the 8th of February 2007 officers from the Sault Ste.
DRIVER FROM MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION ON FEBRUARY 8TH SUCCUMBS TO HIS INJURIES.

On the 8th of February 2007 officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended on Trunk Road near the eastern city limits for a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a City Transit bus.

The driver of the car, 50-year old Hugh Hawdon, of Richards Landing was taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of major injuries. Neither the driver of the bus or the passenger were injured in the collision.

On Saturday February 10th Mr. Hawdon succumbed to his injuries.

Officers from Traffic Services are continuing their investigation into this collision.

Two Females Arrested in Disturbance

On Friday Feb 9th at approx. 11:45 Pm City Police were called to an address in the 200 block of Wellington St. W. regarding a disturbance. After investigating the incident officers arrested a female for breach of the peace. At this time another female obstructed one of officers by grabbing and holding onto him. While wrestling with the officers the accused fell and suffered an injury to her left arm. Elma Wabigwan, age 50, of 37 Hughes St., has been charged with Obstruct Police and will be appearing in court on March 19th. Accused attended the hospital where she was treated and released.

Arrested for Assault, Threatening Death and Trafficking

On Friday Feb. 9th at approx. 6:00 Pm City Police were called to a downtown address in regards to a domestic assault. After a short investigation officers located the accused and arrested him for Assault and Threatening Death. While searching the accused the officers also located several individually packages of marihuana. The accused, a 19-year-old male, was further charged with Possession of a Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Further to the above incident…

On Friday Feb. 9th at approx. 6:00 Pm while investigating a domestic incident officers attended at 362 Queen St. E. Apt # 4 where they located and arrested the suspect. At the time of his arrested the accused and the other tenants of the apartment were in Possession of a Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Police seized numerous individually packed “baggies” of Marihuana. Total weight of the drug is approx. 51 grams. As a result the three co-accused were charged with:

1. Loren Cote, age 20, of 362 Queen St.E. Apt. #2 – Charges: Possession of A Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Substance.

2. Troy Bozowski, age 18, of 45 Princess Cres. Charge: Possession of A Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

3. Thomas Renner, age 22, of 470 Wallace Terr. Apt # 1. Charges: Possession of A Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Substance.
All three accused will be appearing in court on Monday March 26th at 9:00 AM.

Impaired Driving

On Friday Feb. 9th at approx. 10:50 Pm City Police were investigating a possible impaired driver on Princess Cres. As a result of investigations Officers arrested 39-year-old Trevor Tos, of 41 Princess Cres. Apt 3 for Dive Over 80mgs and Breach of Probation. Mr. Tos will be appearing in court on Monday March 26th at 9:00 AM.

Domestic Incident

On Saturday Feb. 10th at approx. 10:15 Am City Police arrested a 30 year old male as a result of a domestic incident. It is alleged that on Feb 9th the accused threatened to kill his common-law spouse with an axe. The accused was arrested by Police and will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 Am.

Four Reports of Mischief

City Police responded to four reports of mischief over the weekend. Three of the mischief reports involved vehicles. The vehicle incidents occurred in the 600 block of Queen St.W., 100 block of Trunk Rd., and Wellington St.W. at Carmen’s Way. The last incident occurred in the 500 block of Queen St. E. where a front window was smashed.
