THREATENING AND FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT A 36 year old male has been charged with 1 count of forcible confinement and 1 count of threatening death or bodily harm.
THREATENING AND FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

A 36 year old male has been charged with 1 count of forcible confinement and 1 count of threatening death or bodily harm. It’s believed that on the 5th of December the accused became involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend at his down town residence. The accused became upset when the victim wished to leave and at this point he confined her to a room and threatened that if she called the Police he would kill her. The victim managed to escape through a window and ran to a nearby store for assistance. The accused was arrested shortly after at his residence. He will be appearing in bail court this morning. The victim did not suffer any injuries.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

A 25 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault and will be appearing in bail court this morning. It is believed that on December 6th the accused became angry towards his common law girlfriend and assaulted her by grabbing her arms and throwing her on to a couch. This occurred at their east end residence. Police were called and the accused was arrested at 3:40am. The victim did not require any medical attention.

ASSAULT

49 year old Linda Schmidt of 631 MacDonald Avenue, Apt.# 403 has been charged with 1 count of assault. It is believed that on the 6th of December at midnight the accused was being escorted out of the Casino located at 30 Bay Street West. She became upset over this and proceeded to kick the Security Officer numerous times. She was held until Police arrived and was arrested at 12:45am. She is scheduled to attend court on the 12th of January.

ASSAULT AND MISCHIEF

A 16 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of mischief under $5000. It is believed that on the 5th of December the accused was approached by a cab driver, who witnessed the accused squatting down in the middle of the road and crying on Boston Avenue. The cab driver believed the accused was in distress and stopped to render him some assistance. The victim flew into a violent rage with the cab driver and proceeded to punch him in the face and smash his drivers side window. He then fled the area. Police found the accused on the corner of Pine Street and Mac Donald Avenue. He will be appearing in court on the 13th of January.

SHOPLIFTER

34 year old Heidi Jo Babic of 59 Old Garden River Road, unit #654 has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000. On the 6th of December the accused attended at “Rick’s Outlet Store” in the Market Mall. While she was there she placed 5 articles of clothing into a bag she had carried in herself. She was apprehended by store employees and Police were called. She will be attending court on the 12th of January.

MALE ARRESTED ON WARRANT

34 year old Robert Hrynkiw of 362 Bloor Street West was arrested this morning after turning himself at the Police Services Building. The accused was wanted on outstanding warrants for 1 count of assault , 4 counts of breach of probation order and 2 counts of breach of recognizance. He is scheduled for bail court this morning.

3 YOUNG OFFENDERS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

Three 17 year old males have been charged with 1 count each of assault and 1 count each of theft under $5000. It’s believed that the three males confronted the victim in his own driveway and a verbal argument ensued. The victim was kicked and punched and the three males fled the area on foot taking the victims pack sack with them. They were located a short distance away and arrested. The victim did suffer scrapes, and a black eye. They are scheduled for court on the 13th of January.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

26 year old Marny Ann Thomlinson has been charged with 1 count of impaired driving and 1 count of consume over the legal limit. The accused was driving her vehicle on Bay Street,
lost control and struck a pole located at 700 Bay Street. When officers arrived they found her to be in an intoxicated state. She is scheduled for court on the 12th of January.

BREAK AND ENTERS

- On the 5th of December someone broke into a house in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue. It is unknown what was taken at this time.
- On the 6th of December someone broke into a house in the 200 block of Letcher Street. Taken was cash, bank cards and jewelry.
- On the 6th of December some one broke into an apartment at Terry Fox place and took $200 and an ipod.
- On the 7th of December , someone broke into a house in the 400 block of Douglas street. Cash and jewelry.
