Break & Enters The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to four break and enters in the past 24 hours. Break-ins were reported to a residence in the 300 block of Chambers Ave on Sunday evening.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to four break and enters in the past 24 hours. Break-ins were reported to a residence in the 300 block of Chambers Ave on Sunday evening. Thieves entered the residence via an unlocked door and stole a quantity of jewellery and electronic games.

Muio’s Confectionary was broken into last evening at about 10:40 PM. The culprits smashed the front window and set off the alarm. The young males were seen fleeing from the scene. The suspects are described as:

1. Male, white, 17-18 years of age, 5’5” tall, wearing a black jacket with grey stripes.
2. Male, white, 17-18 years of age, 6’ tall, slim build, wearing a dark jacket.
3. Male, white, 17-18 years of age, 5’9” tall, slim build, dark jacket, dark toque.

Autoways at 828 Queen St.E. was broken into by forcing the front door. Electronic equipment was stolen.

At 11:29PM Sunday Dec. 3rd City Police responded to an alarm at Fitness One on One at 463C Second Line W. Upon arrival of the officers they noticed that a front window was broken. The Canine Unit was contacted and subsequently followed a track that led the officers to the suspect. Arrested and charged with Break and Enter is: Shaun Phillip Wilson, Age 21 of 289 Kingsford Rd. Mr. Wilson will be appearing in Bail Court today.

Two Charged with Assault & Threatening Death

1. City Police arrested a 31-year-old male and charged him with Assault, Threatening Death and Assault with a Weapon. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife after being involved in an argument with her. The accused is said to have choked the victim and thrown a chair at her. He then threatened to kill her.

2. A 31-year-old male was arrested and charged with Assault and Threatening after police attended a centrally located residence in regards to a domestic dispute. The incident took place at approx. 3:40 AM today. The accused is alleged to have choked the victim and threatened to kill her. The accused will be in Bail Court. The victim did not require medical attention.

This weekend the City Police commenced their December R.I.D.E. spot check.

375 vehicles stopped.
4 Roadside tests were administered.
1 person was arrested for Impaired Driving.
5 Other criminal charges were laid as a result of the R.I.D.E. Program.

The driver arrested for Impaired Driving from the R.I.D.E. Program is identified as Tyler Giroux-Pauze, age 19 years of 118 Cambridge Pl Apt. 305. It is alleged that the accused was driving a 1997 Chrysler Intrepid on Goulais Ave at approx. 2:15 AM on Dec.2nd when he failed to stop for a R.I.D.E. spot check. The accused was then involved in a police pursuit and he again failed to stop. During this pursuit the accused drove in a dangerous manner. The accused was eventually located and arrested. When he was arrested it was learned that he had stolen the vehicle he was driving. He was charged with: 2 counts of Dangerous Driving, Theft Over $ 5,000.00, Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of an Undertaking and Impaired Driving. He will be appearing in Bail Court today.


On Saturday Dec. 2nd at approx. 4:25 AM City Police were called to investigate a mischief complaint at Chambers Ave. and Boundary Rd. It is alleged that the accused did damage the door of a 7550 Taxi. On route to the location the officers located the suspect, at the corner of Chambers Ave and Gibbs St., and arrested him. Charged with Mischief Under $ 5,000.00 is Robert Eshkibok, age 24 of 829 Peoples Rd. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday Jan. 8th at 9:00 AM.

On Sunday Dec. 3rd at approx. 1:45 AM City Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 34 year old David Kevin Spooner, of 11 Hill St. The officers noticed that Mr. Spooner was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for Impaired Driving. A breath test demand was made and the accused refused to provide a sample. As a result the accused was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample. The accused will be appearing in court on Monday Jan 15th at 9:00 AM.

On Sunday Dec. 3rd at approx. 1:35 AM City Police stopped a vehicle in which the accused, Sara McCulloch, was a passenger. When questioned as to why she was not wearing her seat belt the accused became upset and exited the vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle the accused assault a police officer by kicking him- in the leg. The accused then wrestled with the police officer. She was eventually subdued and arrested. Ms McCulloch is charged with Assault Police and Resisting Arrest. She will be appearing in court on Monday Jan 15th at 9:00 AM.
