New monument damaged City Police attended at the Marconi Club on Albert Street West this morning and took a report of mischief. On the 28th of December the Marconi Club unveiled a commemorative monument.

City Police attended at the Marconi Club on Albert Street West this morning and took a report of mischief.  On the 28th of December the Marconi Club unveiled a commemorative monument.  Sometime after the unveiling, culprits damaged three of the four plaques. The damage was noticed on the 29th and reported today. The estimated cost of damage was unknown at the time of the report.

Collision on Bruce St

City Police attended at the intersection of Bruce Street and Queen Street East just after 2 pm for a motor vehicle collision with injuries.  The intersection was closed down for a short period of time while emergency crews removed the vehicles. A blue Chevrolet Cavalier was travelling northbound on Bruce Street failed to stop for a red light and collided with a gold Chevrolet Impala travelling westbound on Queen Street East.  A passenger in the Impala received minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.  Both vehicles received extensive damage.  The driver of the Cavalier, 38 year old Glen Foley of 29 Rutledge Avenue has been charged with red light- fail to stop under the Highway Traffic Act.

Arrests:

21 year old Rebecca Flemming of 59 Cambridge Place was arrested and charged with assault, threatening death and bodily harm.  It alleged that she assaulted a female known to her by punching her and also threatening her. It is alleged that she also damaged a cupboard at an east end residence where the offences took place. She will be attending bail court on 31 December 2012.

Thefts:

On December 30, 2012 at approximately 7:00 pm, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Forest Avenue. The purse was later recovered by a home owner in the 200 block of Simpson Street.
