Six persons to appear in bail court: On Sunday December 19th at approximately 7:00 am members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male for robbery and for wearing a disguise.
Six persons to appear in bail court:

On Sunday December 19th at approximately 7:00 am members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male for robbery and for wearing a disguise. It is alleged that at 6:20 am the accused male attended at the Mac’s Mart, on Gore St and robbed the clerk by threatening him with a screwdriver. A small amount of cash was obtained by the accused. At the time of this offence the accused was wearing a disguise over his face. The Sault Ste Marie Police Service Canine Unit was called out and a short time later the accused was located and arrested. Jordan Porter, age 21, of 180 Albert St. W. is charged with one count of robbery and one count of wearing a disguise.

On Sunday December 19th at approximately 10:00 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old female for assault and mischief charges. It is alleged that on Friday December 17th the accused female assaulted her ex-common-law boyfriend by scratching him and by striking him on the leg with a shovel. It is further alleged that on the 19th of December the accused again assaulted her ex-common-law boyfriend by striking him in the mouth and by damaging his cell phone. The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon (shovel), two counts of assault and one count of mischief. Victim suffered minor injuries but did not seek medical attention.

On Sunday December 19th at approximately 5:30 am members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested two persons for break and enter. It is alleged that on Sunday December 19th at about 5:00 am the two accused persons broke into a residence on Upton Rd and stole some items. The homeowner called police and the two accused were arrested a short distance from the residence. Jordan Driver, age 24, of 27 Terry Fox Pl. Apt # 208 is charged with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of probation. At the time of the offence Mr. Driver was on a probation order release with conditions to be good and keep the peace. Co-accused Maygan Welander, age 30, of 254 Dacey Rd. Apt # 9, is charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of house breaking tools.

On Friday December 17th at approximately 1:20 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that at about 8:30 am the accused male assaulted his common-law girlfriend by pushing her to the ground and holding her arms. The male is charged with two counts of assault. Victim did not require medical attention.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for mischief, assault with a weapon and threatening. It is alleged that on Saturday December 18th the accused attended at the downtown residence of a family member and damaged that residence with a baseball bat. It is further alleged that the accused threatened and assaulted a male person, known to him, with the bat. The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threatening and one count of mischief. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault.

Male arrested for possession of stolen property:

On Saturday December 18th at 3:40 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. It is alleged that on Friday December 17th the accused male was seen pawning stolen property at a local pawnshop. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to be good and keep the peace. Jeremy Miller, age 20, of 312 Gilles St. is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. Mr. Miller is to appear in court on Jan. 24th at 9;00 am.

Two males arrested for impaired driving:

On Saturday December 18th at approximately 2:30 am members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for impaired driving and failure to provide a breath sample. It is alleged that the accused, Dustin McDonald, was operating his motor vehicle on Goulais Ave at Second Line W. when he disobeyed a red traffic signal. The accused was stopped by police and at that time it was determined that he had been drinking.
It is further alleged that the officers made a breath demand of the accused and that he refused to provide a breath sample. Dustin McDonald, age 20, of 332 Cheshire Rd, is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of failing to provide a breathy sample. Mr. McDonald is to appear in court on Jan. 24th at 9:00 am.

On Friday December 17th at approximately 940 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for impaired driving and driving while disqualified. It is alleged that the accused, Robert Elliott, was operating his motor vehicle on Boundary Rd at Trunk Rd. when he committed an infraction under the Highway Traffic Act. Officers stopped the accused and noticed that he was under the influence of alcohol. It is further alleged that the accused was also prohibited from driving . Robert Elliott, age 36, of 254 Dacey Rd. apt # 6, is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive while disqualified. Mr. Elliott is to appear in court on Jan. 24th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter:

A residence in the 100 block of Hughes St. was entered – tools were reported stolen.
A residence in the 100 block of Francis St was entered – electronic items were taken.
A residence in the 600 block of Wellington St. W. was entered – electronics and jewelllery were taken.
An attempted break-in was reported to an apartment in the 1000 block of Peoples Rd.
Electronic items were stolen from a construction site in the 1500 block of Queen St. E.

Mischief:

Vehicles were damaged in the 400 block of Northland Rd and the 200 block of St. Patrick St.
An apartment was damaged in the 100 block of Cathcart St.
An elevator was damaged in the 100 block of Kohler St.

Theft:

A vehicle was entered in the 200 block of Beverley St. – it is not known what was taken at this time.
