Impaired Driving Charges Laid

On Saturday Dec. 18th at approx. 10:50 PM Officers working the R.I.D.E. Program on Goulais Ave stopped a vehicle and requested that the driver take a Roadside test. The driver subsequently took the test and registered a fail. As a result, 45-year-old Timothy Sloss, of 324 Cathcart St. was arrested for Impaired Driving. He will be appearing in Court on Mon. Jan 23 at 9:00 AM.

Break and Enters Reported Over Weekend

City Police were called to investigate a Break and Enter at an address in the 100 block of Elgin St. late Sunday evening. Upon arrival officers received information from the victims of possible suspects. Upon further investigation by the officer 3 young persons were subsequently arrested and charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property. Two of the youths will be appearing in court on Tues. Jan 24th at 9:30 AM and the third will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

The 400 block of Wallace Terr where a door was forced.

The 200 block of Greenfield Dr., where culprit(s) smashed the front patio door to gain entry and steal a quantity of cash.

A Storage trailer was entered in the 200 block of Northern Ave.

An apartment was entered in the 800 block of Wellington St.E. Thieves stole 3 purses and a jacket.

City Police investigated two thefts from vehicles over the weekend. In both cases cash and personal belongings were stolen.

The City Police investigated 15 motor vehicle collisions yesterday.
