1. A 24 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault on his girlfriend. It is believed that on the 16th of December at around 12pm, while visiting the victim’s downtown residence the accused punched her in the mouth. City Police attended the residence and arrested the accused. The victim in this incident suffered non- life threatening injuries.

2. A 17 year old youth has been charged with 1 count of mischief under $5000, 1 count of obstruct Peace Officer and 2 counts of breach of probation order. It is believed that just after 1am this morning the accused attended at 271 Dacey Road (Mac’s Mart) and threw a beer bottle through the window causing $500 damage. When Police arrived the accused gave a false name to the officers. At the time of the offence the accused was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and was to abide by a curfew of 10pm to 6am.

3. A 54 year old male has been charged with 2 counts of breach of probation. On the 16th of December just before 8pm, City Police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the down town area. It is believed that the accused male at the residence was on conditions bound by a probation order to not attend that residence and was also on probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged accordingly.

4. On the 13th of December a 47 year old male threatened to kill his common law wife if she did not return to their down town residence. City Police were called to investigate and the accused was arrested on the 14th of December at his residence. The accused has been charged with 1 count of threatening death.

5. A 38 year old male has been charged with 1 count of assault. It is believed that the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend after a verbal argument at their east end home. It is also alleged that the accused grabbed the female by the head and hit it against a piece of furniture causing her to receive a cut. Police were called and the accused was arrested.

6. A 45 year old male has been charged with 3 counts of breach of probation order. It is believed that on the 15th of December the accused attended a residence in the downtown area when bound by a probation order to remain away from that residence. The accused was also in the presence of a female at that same residence when he was also on conditions to stay away from her. At the time of the arrest the accused had consumed alcohol when again he was on conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.

7. On the 16th of December a 40 year old female was charged in a domestic related incident. It is believed that the accused assaulted her common-law girlfriend by biting her on the arm. The accused also took a knife and stabbed the bed beside where the victim lay. Police were called and the accused has been charged with 1 count of assault and 1 count of assault with a weapon.

Robbery

On the 15th of December just after midnight police were called to the parking lot of 135 Cambridge Place. It is believed that just before police arrival a lone male was robbed by a group of 3 males and 2 to 3 females. The accused was in the parking lot when he was approached by the group who stated they had bear spray. The individuals demanded his back pack and any money or jewelry. The victim gave his back pack and money from his wallet. The male was then punched in the face by one of the male individuals then sprayed in the face. The group fled the area and the victim was able to get someone to contact the police. Break and Enter

- A residence in the 600 block of Pine Street was broken into over the weekend. It is unknown at this time what was taken.

Three Cases of Mischief

- A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Leslie Street had its tires slashed over the weekend.
- On the 14th of December just after 11pm, someone threw a beer bottle and smashed a window on Breton Road.
- On the 16th of December just after 1am, someone threw a beer bottle at a moving car on Trunk Road just by Harvey’s Restaurant.

Police Seek Your Assistance

Police would like to inform the public that 10 books of tickets were stolen from a vehicle on the 13th of December. There are 100 tickets in total and they are for a lamb Dinner being held by the Soo 48 Club at the Marconi Club on the 22 of February. The tickets are $50 each. The public should inform the Police if they are approached by someone selling tickets for this dinner that are specific for tables 14 through to tables 23.
