MALE CHARGED WITH THEFT UNDER $5000 29 year old Robert Aldebert Thibalt (both proper spelling) of 204 Queen Street East has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000.
MALE CHARGED WITH THEFT UNDER $5000

29 year old Robert Aldebert Thibalt (both proper spelling) of 204 Queen Street East has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000. It is believed that between September and November of 2008 the accused did steal approximately $200. The accused was a server at a down town restaurant and on several occasions altered the visa slips totals. He will be appearing in court on the 19th of January.

MALE ARRESTED ON WARRANT

A 25 year old male attended at the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on December 14th at approximately 9pm and turned himself in on outstanding warrants. He has been charged with 1 count of assault, 1 count of mischief under $5000 and 1 count of unlawfully in a dwelling house. The charges stemmed from a domestic related incident which occurred on the 12th of December. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.

FEMALE CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION

On the 12th of December just after 5pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, the Canine Unit and Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 603 Queen Street East Unit #3. During the course of the search officers located 10.3 grams of Cannabis Marihuana and trace amounts of Cannabis Resin. Also located at the residence was a digital scale and various drug paraphernalia. Estimated street value of the drugs is $200.

47 year old Sharon Ivana Marie Miskimins of 603 Queen Street West has been charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance.

MALE CHARGED WITH STEALING A CAR

43 year old Andrew Sheridan Swan of 314 Albert Street East, unit #11 has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000, 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime, 1 count of breach of probation and 1 count of breach of undertaking. It is believed that on the 13th of December at approximately 3pm the accused was at a local central establishment consuming alcohol, when he stole a set of keys off of the bar. The accused then attended outside and stole a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. Police were called and during the course of their investigation into the stolen vehicle they located it outside Mr. Swan’s residence at approximately 3:15pm. At that time the accused was exiting his residence and returned to the vehicle with the keys in his hand. He was placed under arrest. At the time of the arrest he was on an undertaking not consume any alcohol and on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He will be appearing in court this morning.

TWO Y.O. FEMALES ARRESTED

A 14 year old female has been charged with 1 count of theft over $5000, 1 count of possession of stolen property, 1 count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, 1 count of conspiracy to commit other indictable offences and 3 counts of breach of probation order.

A 16 year old female has been charged with 1 count of theft over $5000, 1 count of possession of stolen property and 1 count of conspiracy to commit other indictable offences.

On the 12th of December just after 9pm the two females stole a 2002 Honda Civic out of a driveway in the 400 block of Boundary road. The vehicle had the keys in the ignition and the vehicle was running. The 14 year old female occupied the driver’s seat and the two drove off to the Rankin Reserve. Once there the two switched seats. The vehicle was located a short time later on Gran Street by City Officers. Upon noticing the Police, the vehicle fled the scene and was pursued by Police. The vehicle was traveling east bound on HWY17 when it attempted to pass a vehicle, the driver struck lost control, struck a snow bank and was launched into the air and landed on it’s roof in front of civic # 1254 HWY 17B. Both females were removed from the vehicle, placed under arrest and transported to the hospital. They were both treated for minor injuries and released to police. The 14 year old female was on three probation orders to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. They will both be in bail court this morning.

MALE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

44 year old Francis George Wahsquonaikezhik of 4 clearview drive has been charged with 1 count of assault, 1 count of threatening bodily harm, and 1 count of break and enter and commit. It’s believed that on the 14th of December at approximately 1:45am, the accused attended at a residence in the east end of town and forced his way through the door way. Once inside he punched a male and female both known to him. Before leaving the residence the accused threatened to harm the male victim. He will be appearing in court on the 19th of January.

MALE CHARGED FOR CONSUMING ALCOHOL OVER LEGAL LIMIT

23 year old Martin Joseph Fortier of 507 Morin Street has been charged with 1 count of consume alcohol over the legal limit. On the 14th of December a approximately 3am the accused was operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. The accused then traveled through a R.I.D.E check point and failed a roadside screening device. The accused was arrested and will be appearing in court on the 19th of January.

FEMALE CHARGED WTH HARASSING PHONE CALLS

53 year old Rita Jean McCluski of 54 Cathcart Unit #3 has been charged with 1 count of harassing phone calls. On the 4th of December the accused did make several phone calls after being told to stop. She also left 5 messages on the victim’s voicemail. The accused was arrested on the 12th of December by officers. She is scheduled to appear in court on the 19th of January.

MALE CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL HARRASSEMENT

19 year old Shawn Eugene William Wiles of 28 Atwater Street has been charged with 1 count of criminal harassment and will be appearing in court on the 19th of December. It is believed that between September and December 2008 the accused made approximately 24 harassing phone calls to a female known to him.

BREAK AND ENTERS

The following are break and enters that were reported over the last 72 hours.

- A home on Edingburgh Street was broken into. Jewelry and tobacco were stolen.
- A home on Francis Street was broken into. A computer monitor and approximately 45-50 compact disks were stolen.
- A home on London Street was broken into. Unsure at this time what was stolen.
- A garage on Pine Street was broken into. A number of tools were stolen.
