Male Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography
On the 10th of December, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigation and Technological Crime Units arrested 47 year-old Joseph Lebel of 253 Poplar Avenue at his residence and charged him with one count of possession of child pornography. It is alleged that officers made the arrest after a child pornography investigation commenced on the 8th of December that continued with a search warrant being executed at the accused residence on the 10th of December and the accused being found in possession of child pornography on his home computer. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested with Drug Related Offences at Canada Customs
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team arrested 20 year-old Paul Archibald of 35 Hiltz Road, Heyden, Ontario at 9:56 pm on the 12th of December at Canada Customs on Huron Street and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 12th of December at approximately 9:15 pm Canadian Customs Officers investigated the accused at Canada Customs and found him to be in possession of 232 grams of marihuana.

The accused was arrested and turned over to members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team for further investigation. The accused was also found to be in possession of a knife that opened with centrifugal force (flick of the wrist) which made it a prohibited weapon and a quantity of cash. All items were seized with the street value of drugs being approximately $4,640. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Related Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 47 year-old male at 6:10 pm on the 10th of December at his residence and charged him with one count of criminal harassment and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that between the 1st February 2010 and the 9th of December 2010 the accused criminally harassed his ex-wife by continuously driving past her residence on numerous occasions and during this time he was on a recognizance order not to be within 500 meters of her residence due to previous domestic related assaults.

Shoplifting Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29 year-old Patricia Korte of 55 Bowie Avenue, Toronto Ontario at 12:25 pm on the 12th of December at Wal-Mart and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that she attended at the store on this date and stole some items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police and is to appear in court on the 17th of January 2011.

Youth Arrested for Internal Thefts at his Place of Employment
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth on the 10th of December at his place of employment and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that officers investigated the accused for internal thefts in the amount of $1,005 at his place of employment that occurred between the 26th of August and the 26th of November 2010. The accused is to appear in court on the 18th of January 2011.

Male Arrested for Theft of Apartment Complex Security Camera
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23 year-old Tyler Kennedy of #101-155 Cambridge Place at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a theft incident that took place at 155 Cambridge Place on the December 2nd in which the accused allegedly stole the security camera from the building. He is to appear in court ton the 17th of January 2011.

Male Arrested for Mischief and Drug Possession
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Tyler Gagnon of 103 Anna Street at 10:00 am on the 11th of December and charged him with one count of mischief and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 11th of December at approximately 9:30 am the accused, while in an intoxicated state, attended at a residence of a person known to him on Raymond Street and was banging on all the windows of the residence. During the incident the accused broke a broke a basement window and also damaged a screen. Police were called, arrested him on scene and at the time he was found to be in possession of a small amount of hash oil. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of January.

Female Charged with Assault and Breach of Probation
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Arrested 43 year-old Lore-Lei Gabow of #214-100 James Street at 12:10 am on the 11th of December and charged her with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the evening of the 10th of December the accused attended at a home of a person known to her for a party and while there she assaulted the male homeowner by punching him and scratching him in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result that required medical attention.

Festive R.I.D.E. Program Results
The R.I.D.E Program was conducted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service once again this past weekend. There were 455 vehicles checked on Friday evening with one roadside test being administered. The driver passed.

Break and Enters
• A business property on White Oak Drive was entered between the 6th and the 11th of December with approximately $3,000 worth of copper wire reported stolen.
• An apartment in the 200 block of Lake Street was entered on Thursday or Friday night. An iPod and a Blu Ray DVD Player were reported taken.

Mischief Report
A vehicle in the 100 block Tancred Street on was dented and had the tires slashed.
