Warrant

29-year-old Justin Joseph Lewis of 289 Kathleen Street in Sudbury Ontario was arrested on the 6th of August 2010 by the Greater Sudbury Police Service and held for the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for an outstanding warrant for assault and breach of probation. He was transported to Sault Ste. Marie and is awaiting bail.

Two Males Charged for Assaulting a Fellow Inmate at the A.R.T.C.

29-year-old Jason Gamble and 19-year-old Michael Leclair (both current residents of the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre at 800 Great Northern Road) were charged on the 7th of August 2010 at their place of incarceration with one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on that day both accused parties assaulted a 51-year-old male fellow inmate at that facility by stabbing him with a pencil. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.

Mischief

19-year-old Joseph Sutherland of 441 Queen Street West was arrested on the 6th of August 2010 at 2:59 a.m. at his place of abode and charged with on count of mischief under five thousand dollars. It is alleged that the accused had previously attended the West Side Café on Queen Street West at 2:47 a.m. where he smashed the front door window of that establishment with his fist. Alcohol was a factor in the incident. The accused was additionally charge with being intoxicated in a public place pursuant to the Liquor License Act of Ontario. He is compelled to attend court on the 13th of September 2010.

Assault

37-year-old Dean William Daigle of 394 Connaught Avenue was arrested on the 8th of August 2010 at 4:25 p.m. at his place of residence and charged with two counts of common assault stemming from two separate incidents at a local drinking establishment. It is alleged that on the 26th of July 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and on the 8th of August 2010 at 12:34 p.m. the accused attended a local bar on Wallace Terrace and assaulted a 45-year-old male victim that is known to him by punching him in the facial area. The victim did not require medical attention at the time. The accused was released with a court date of the 13th of September 2010.

Break and Enter and Robbery

19-year-old Caleb Seaton of 472 Wellington Street East was arrested on the 7th of August 2010 at 3:50 a.m. at a residence on Alexandra Street and Charged with Break and Enter and Robbery. It is alleged that the accused forced his way into a residence of a 23-year-old male occupant known to him in the 600 block of Wellington Street East and there in assaulted the victim and took a small quantity of cash in the process. He was held for bail court.

Mischief

30-year-old Laura Palmer of no fixed address was arrested on the 7th of August 2010 at 12:48 a.m. at the Mac’s Mart (187 Gore Street) and charged with mischief and theft. It is alleged that the accused entered the store and proceeded to throw and damage merchandise. She also drank a container of chocolate milk without paying for it. The accused was held for bail court.

Drug Warrant

33-year-old Rose Crack of 167 John Street Unit #2 and 23-year-old Ewen Crack of 865 Second Line East were charged with possession of a controlled substance subsequent to a search warrant for drugs. It is alleged that the Sault Ste. Marie “Street” team executed a search warrant on the 6th of August 2010 at 167 John Street Unit #2 and subsequently located morphine tablets, marijuana and various drug paraphernalia (street value of drugs is over $200.00). Both accused parties are to appear in court on the 13th of September 2010.

Domestic Related Mischief

A 20-year-old Male was arrested on the 8th of August 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and charged with mischief. It is alleged that on the 7th of August 2010 in the evening hours the accused damaged a vehicle belonging to his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend by punching and kicking it. The victim was inside her car at the time. He was released with a court date of the 15th of September 2010.

Breach of Release Document

38-year-old Laura Williams of 81 Hillside Drive was arrested on the 6th of August 2010 at 9:25 p.m. at her place of residence for failing to notify police of her change of address as was required by a condition of her release document. She was charged with breach of Recognizance and it to appear in court on the 13th of September.

Fail to Appear for Prints

21-year-old John McGauhey of 75 Arden Street was arrested on the 08th of August 2010 at 5:20 a.m. at his place of residence and arrested for failing to appear for finger prints. Officers had attended at the residence for an unrelated matter and became aware of an outstanding warrant. He was released with a court date of the 13th of September 2010.

Break and Enters

A residence in the 500 block of Charles Street was broken into sometime between the evening hours of the 6th of August and early morning hours of the 7th of August 2010. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.
A residence in the 700 block of Goulais Avenue was broken into sometime between the evening of the 6th and afternoon of the 7th of August 2010. A computer was taken.

Theft from Vehicles

A camera was taken from a vehicle on Riverside Drive and cameras, a GPS and an Ipod were taken from a vehicle in the 400 block of Queen Street East.

A snow blower was reported stolen in the 200 block of Cathcart Street and several bicycles were stolen from a yard in the 1000 block of Carpin Beach Road.
