Ten persons to appear in bail court On Friday August 5th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that the accused threatened to burn down a neighbor’s house.

On Friday August 5th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that the accused threatened to burn down a neighbor’s house. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace. Shawn Dunlop, age 30 of 135 McFadden Ave is charged with one count of threatening and one count of breach of probation.

On Friday August 5th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38-year-old male for mischief and breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that the accused damaged a residence in the 100 block of McFadden Ave. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on a recognizance release order with conditions to notify police of any change of address. Robert Muhonen, age 38, of 135 McFadden Ave is charged with one count of mischief and one count of breach of a recognizance.

On Saturday August 6th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old youth for breach of an undertaking, resist arrest and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged at 1:30 am on August 6th the accused was in an intoxicated condition on Wellington St. E. It is further alleged that the accused resisted and kicked the arresting officers. Further when accused was searched officers found three marihuana cigarettes on his person. At the time of these offences the accused was on an undertaking release order with conditions to abstain from consumption of alcohol. The youth is charged with two counts of breach of an undertaking, one count of resist arrest and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

On Saturday August 6th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male on a warrant for failing to appear for court. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation. Keegan Day, age 20, of 379 Frood Rd., Sudbury is charged with one count of failing to appear for court and one count of breach of probation.

On Saturday August 6th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43-year-old male on a warrant for assault, assault with a weapon, threatening and careless storage of firearm. It is alleged that on August 2nd the accused assaulted his girlfriend. It is further alleged that while at his residence, the accused, threatened to shoot the victim. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of threatening death, one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of unsafe storage.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted her common-law partner. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49-year-old male on a warrant for breach of a recognizance and breach of probation. It is alleged that on July 31st the accused called his ex-common-law partner. At the time of this offence the accused was on a recognizance release order to not communicate with the complainant. The accused was also on probation at the time of this offence. The accused is charged with one count of breach of a recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for breach of probation. It is alleged that on August 7th the accused was at the residence of his ex-common-law partner. At the time of this incident the accused was on probation with conditions to stay away from his ex-partner and not to communicate with her. The accused is charged with two counts of breach of probation.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 40-year-old male for mischief. It is alleged that while at his girlfriend’s residence the accused damaged several items in the home. The accused is charged with one count of mischief.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 39-year-old male for resist arrest and breach of probation. It is alleged that on Sunday morning the accused was in an intoxicated condition. At this time officers attempted to arrest the accused at which point he resisted the officers. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and to abstain from consuming alcohol. Brian Marion, age 39 of no fixed address is charged with one count of resist arrest and two count of breach of probation.

Persons arrested for impaired driving
On Saturday August 6th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 48 year-old male for drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused failed a roadside screening device test. Lawrence Frennette, age 48 of 414 Wellington St. E. Apt # 3 is charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs. Mr. Frennette is to appear in court on Sept 12th at 9:00 am.

On Sunday August 7th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old male for impaired driving. It is alleged breath. A roadside test was administered and the accused registered a fail. It is further alleged that the accused was in possession of a small amount of marihuana. Tyler Smith, age 30 of 16 Lake St., Echo bay is charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Mr. Smith is to appear in court on Sept. 12th at 9:00 am.

R.I.D.E. Program
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service performed a R.I.D.E. program at three locations in the city over the weekend. A total of 615 vehicles were checked. Seven roadside tests were administered.
One 3 day suspension was issued.
Two provincial offence notices were issued.

Break and enter
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received five reports of break and enters over the weekend.

Construction trailers were entered in the 700 block of Second Line W. and the 500 block of Goulais Ave. It is unknown what was taken.

Jewellery and electronics were stolen from a residential break-in in the 200 block of Albert St. W.

lde Towne Antiques, 129 Bruce St. was entered and quantities of antiques were stolen.

A residence in the 100 block of Pawating Pl was entered- a suspect described as:
Male, teenager, stocky build, with long hair and wearing a blue base ball cap was seen leaving the area in a liver Nissan.

Mischief
Vehicles were damaged in the following locations:
The 400 block of Wellington St. E.,

The 600 block of Queen St. E. –two vehicles

A residence in the 100 block of McFadden Ave was spray painted.

A window was smashed in the 600 block of Queen St. W.

A window was damaged in the 100 block of Gore St.

A mailbox was damaged in the 100 block of Alagash Dr.

A vehicle damaged the lawn at a business in the 1300 block of Trunk Rd.
