Eleven persons to appear in bail court On Saturday August 14th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old male and charged him with threatening and breach of a recognizance.
Eleven persons to appear in bail court

On Saturday August 14th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old male and charged him with threatening and breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that early on Saturday morning the accused threatened to kill a family member. At the time of this offence the accused was on a recognizance release order to keep the peace. The youth is charged with one count of threatening death and one count of breach of a recognizance.

On Friday August 13th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused female assaulted her common-law husband by shoving him throw a door. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. The female is charged with one count of assault.

On August 14th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 24-year-old male for assault. It is alleged that on Aug 12th the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by choking her. Victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault.

On August 15th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 31 -year-old female for threatening. It is alleged that between July 28- and 30th 2010 the accused threatened to cause bodily harm to a female known to her. Heather Goodmurphy, age 31, of no fixed address is charged with one count of threatening death.

On August 14th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for assault and threatening. It is alleged that at 1:00 pm on August 14th the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by striking her on the head. It is further alleged that at 4:00 pm the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend and threatened to kill her. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. At the time of these offences the accused was on a probation release order to keep the peace. The accused is charged with two counts of assault, one count of threatening death and one count of breach of probation.


On August 15th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 31-year-old male for breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that the accused male was located by city police at the residence of his ex-common-law girlfriend. The accused was prohibited from being at this location by a recognizance release order. It is further alleged that the accused breached the same conditions on August 12th. The accused is charged with 4 counts of breach of a recognizance.

On August 16th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 39-year-old male for assault, possession of an unregistered firearm and unsafe storage of a firearm. It is alleged that on August 15th the accused assaulted his girlfriend by spitting and striking her on the face. It is further alleged that upon arresting the accused officers located a firearm at his residence that was not safely stored or registered to him. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of unsafe storage and one count of failing to possess a registration certificate for the firearm.

On August 13th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 44-year-old male for an outstanding 810.2 warrant. It is alleged that the accused male was arrested on a warrant that there was fear that the accused would commit serious personal injury to some person. David Carrie, age 44, of 20 Alberta Ave is to appear in court on the breach of a recognizance charge.

On August 13th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for several domestic related charges. It is alleged that on August 8th the accused assaulted his ex-common-law-girlfriend, by striking her in the head with a shoe and threatened to kill her. It is further alleged that on August 13th the accused forced his way into the victim’s residence and assaulted the victim by choking and punching her. The accused is further alleged to have forcibly confined the victim – preventing her from call police for help. Victim was treated for her injuries. The accused is charged with one count of forcible confinement, one count of unlawfully in a dwelling, one count of mischief, one count of intimidation, one count of aggravated assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening death.

On august 15th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service “ Street Team” arrested a 22-year-old male and a 19-year-old female for possession of c controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged that on August 15th at 10:00 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service executed a drug search warrant at 62 Allard St. Apt 207 and located 20 ecstasy pills, 25.5 grams of marihuana, 2 grams of cannabis resin and 10 grams psilocybin (magic mushrooms). It is further alleged that officers also located flick knife. Brandon Flint, age 22 and Jamie Sharpe, age 19, of 62 Allard St. Apt 207 are each charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and three count so possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Break and enter

Break and enters were reported to the following locations:
A residence in the 100 block of Admiral Dr. A 2001 Honda motor bike was stolen.
The 200 block of Bay St. – unknown what was taken at this time.

Mischief

Vehicles were damaged in the following locations:
The 400 block of Queen St. E.- several cars were damaged in this block.
The 100 block of Burton Rd.
The 100 block of Churchill Blvd.
Windows were broken at two businesses in the 300 block of Queen St. E. and one business in the 100 block of Bay St.
A window was broken at a residence in the 300 block of Douglas St.

Theft

Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
The 100 block of McFadden Ave- electronics were stolen.
The 400 block of Albert St. E. – a purse was taken.
The 100 block of Prentice Ave- a wallet was taken.
The 200 and 300 blocks of Rossmore Rd. – electronics reported stolen.
The 500 block of Trunk Rd. – electronics stolen.
The 100 block of Queen St. E. – purse taken.
The 400 Albert St. E. – purse stolen.
A blue and white moped was stolen from the 100 block of East St.
A wallet was stolen from the Y.M.C.A.
