The following three males were arrested for domestic related offences – all to appear in bail court this morning:

1) A 41 year-old male was arrested on the 8th of August at 7 pm on Queen Street and charged with one count of criminal harassment, one count of break, enter and commit and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that for the past six months the accused has harassed his ex-common law spouse by continuously attending at her place of employment and watching her and also made threats to harm her new partner. The accused also allegedly broke into the victim’s residence, and grabbed her around the neck and attempted to choke her.

2) A 30 year-old male was arrested on the 9th of August at 3:10 pm at an east-end residence and charged with one count of assault and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the evening of the 8th of August the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s residence, got into a verbal argument with her and punched her in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to notify his change in address which officers discovered he had not.

3) A 38 year-old male was arrested on the 10th of August at 5:45 am at and east-end residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 10th of August at approximately 5:30 am the accused got into a verbal argument with his common law spouse at their residence and pushed her. No injuries wee reported. At the time of the offence the accused was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Impaired Driver Arrested:

56 year-old Carmen Marcil (female) of 658 North Street was arrested on the 10th of August at 10:32 pm on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 10th of August around 10:28 pm the accused was observed by a witness in what appeared to be an intoxicated condition, just outside her vehicle in the parking lot of a local business on Northern Avenue. When the accused got into her vehicle and was about to drive off, the witness took the keys from the ignition and notified police. When police attended, the accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of September.

Two Arrested for Shoplifting:

1) 40 year-old Douglas Cameron of 164 Gore Street (Main Floor) was arrested on the 8th of August at 7:15 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 8th of August the accused attended at Kelly’s Grocery and stole three packages of meat products. The accused was arrested by Mall Security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 15th of September.

2) 28 year-old Gwen Nadon of 28 Wellington Street East (Main Floor) was arrested on the 10th of August at 12:40 am at her residence and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 10th of August at approximately 12:20 am the accused attended that the Mac’s Convenience Store on Gore Street and stole a box of Gravol. The accused ran across the street to her residence and was located a short time later by police. She is to appear in court on the 8th of September.

Intoxicated Male Found in Possession of Drugs Arrested:

23 year-old Lance Wabigwan of 179 March Street was arrested on the 9th of August at 5:45 am on Second Avenue and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on the 9th of August around 5:37 am the accused was in an intoxicated condition and was banging at the door of a residence on Second Avenue. The homeowner, who did not know the male, called police to have the male moved along. When the accused was arrested he was found in possession of a small amount of esctasy. The accused is to appear in court on the 22nd of September.

The following Thefts Were Reported Over the Weekend:

• Vehicles were entered on Henry Street and Korah Road. A wallet and change were reported stolen.
• Solar lights were stolen from a residence I the 500 block of Northern Avenue and Northland Road.
• Bikes were reported stolen from residences on John Street and Andrew Street.

A residence on Marconi Street was entered sometime overnight on the 8th of August. An X-Box and jewellery were reported stolen.

The following Mischief Reports were taken over the Weekend:

• The parking meter for the pay booth at the Doctor’s Building on East Street was damaged when culprits were attempting to steal change from it.
• A vehicle parked on Pittsburg Avenue was completely scratched.
